SWIM boiled 150g of Maya's red Caapi five times for 30-minutes each, in water slightly acidified with vinegar. She reduced, using the egg-white tek, to approximately 400ml. The resulting brew was refrigerated for two-weeks, leaving a thick paste on the bottom of the jar.
The first time, SWIM drank freely until feeling the effect of harmalas, and had a nice two hour experience with no visionary activity.
The second time, the same but with visual tracers becoming apparent and some dream-like activity while in the trance.
The third time, she scraped the bottom of the jar, shaking and shaking it up. She drank until feeling strong harmala effects. About 40-minutes into the experience, strong tracers appeared and heavy dizziness was felt while moving. She became very disoriented, with strong visuals. About an hour into the experience, based off of the music playing, she vaped enough changa to bring her the level of light she has found to be most effective. She lost hold of the boundaries of her body, though without entering DMT-hyperspace, and remained in a diffused-ego state for nearly four more hours.
At eight-hours after ingesting, she was still experiencing strong electric tracers and dizziness. After ten-hours, dizziness and prominent CEVs had disappeared, but she remained unable to fall asleep. Somewhere between eleven and twelve-hours after ingesting, she fell asleep and felt completely recovered after four-hours of sleep.
Throughout the journey, no nausea appeared except when standing up and moving around, especially when making way to the bathroom or to the kitchen. There was some slight discomfort at points, but negligible and SWIM will experiment with datura seeds and ginger to see if it can be eliminated. Even with the strength of the brew, it had the least body load of any she's had. The egg-tek did it's job perfectly; also, she's only worked with black Caapi before this, so that may have played a role.
This was her longest journey by far, bringing up some questions. With other brews, she has noticed the decanted ones having a much shorter-active period. She recalls the accounts of pharma also seeming to be of shorter (2-3 hours?) duration. With Gibran2's ayahuasca extraction tek, it appears that Caapi has many more harmalas in it than would be expected based on pharma dosages. He wondered if something in the Caapi brew restricted the harmala bioavailability. It seems plausible to me that the sludge may act as a time release formula.
The strength of this brew was kind of unexpected, but very good. The duration, completely unexpected. If SWIM had included an admixture, she thinks she would have been very uncomfortable for a very long time.
