Hello everyone.

I am new to the 'spirit molecule', however I have a great deal of experience with other psychedelics. I have recently been through some very significant paradigm shifts and realize that I actual know very little, I know this sounds a little cliche, so let me explain further. I was once a man of very strong convictions and actually pretty damn sure of a lot of things. Then I came to the realization of something and I will not go into great detail - as I am new to you and you are to me. I simply realized that I can take nothing for granted and, though I knew it before hand to a lesser degree, nothing in this world is as it seems and very few people care for what is true and what is false. If little attention is given to the details of accurate historical facts(in the archives and records) over the last 200 years by the majority of people, and people are more willing to accept lies than deal with what is true, then just consider the last 4000 years or more - Not just the nature of the sheeple, but also the possibility of false narratives, destroyed and hidden records, molevelent social engineering and wide spread corruption. I could go on, but I am sure many of you know what I mean. All I want is the truth, and I am pretty sure that I can handle it. If not. well, I will learn to deal with it, in this reality or the next.

I am hear to learn every last drop of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom that I can from myself and about myself through DMT. I have yet to experience it however from what I have seen from my other experiences I am sure that there are answers to be had with a little help of course. This molecule is not the only thing I will be endeavoring: I will also be pursuing understanding from the works of Ken Wilber, Genpo Roshi; both Western and Eastern philosophy, spiral dynamic, integral theory, understanding as much of the trans-modernism, and the super trans-modernism perspective as I can.

It may be needless to say this for my postings here will soon demonstrate it, I have much to learn and will be leaning on you all for some time, I am sure. So please bare with me. I have a great deal of reading to do outside of this site and probably more than I can handle on it. I promise I will do my best to look for the answers before I ask, but I am sure I will over look and miss many of the resources that are already available throughout this forum and its resource links. With time, I am sure I will become proficient.

I look forward to this: the experiences ahead of me and the opportunity of sharing them here. Correspond with you all soon.
The truth is not for all men, but only for those who seek it.

Dear FiorSirtheoir,

A warm welcome to the nexus to you! I enjoyed reading your intro. I too enjoy the ideas of spiral dynamics and Ken Wilber, though I must say I know most of them only second hand through a friend who is very active in the integral movement in my country. Last year I was at an event where we had a skype interview with Ken about religion with respect to different developmental levels. It was very interesting. Also Terry Patten gave a really inspiring talk about God or the divine in the second perspective (as you surely know the three faces of God - and the second perspective, the other, the *you*, being one of them). I was very touched by this talk.

I'm interested in what you define as truth. I find this is a very difficult term, because given the multiplicity of perspectives there are on one event by the mere fact that there is a multiplicity of observers, the truth seems to be more than ONE thing. There are psychological studies that show that for example eye-witness reports aren't really very reliable. The mind is easily tricked; anyone writing an account of an event that happened could be writing it to the best of their knowledge but the truth could be something else.
In the end it seems there is only belief or assumption, and action according to these assumptions. History to me is not a conglomeration of facts, but a development of mind and spirit through different systems and levels. Currently I am reading Michel Foucault's lectures on Security, Territory and Population, which is very interesting - about the development of power structures and the ideas that were underlying to these things. It is not so much a history of dates and events but a history of systems, of dynamics and beliefs. What is the truth in this context?

I find it hard to define. I try not to think in terms of truth and whatever the opposite is. I try to look at dynamic systems, analysing their progress through time in their state of non-equilibrium. Even the information about our history that might be misconstrued to me is part of the dynamics of the organism we call society.

Concerning spice, well, it is surely interesting and can (it seems to me) facilitate a lot of interesting conceptualisations and spirituality, self reflection etc etc. I'm sure you know all this.
We are very high on integrating the experiences we have here at the nexus, but you, being interested in integral theory should have no problems with this concept. Someone said (I think it was Andrew Cohen), "An experience is just an experience" - it means nothing if it doesn't change you. While I don't subscribe to the idea of getting *results* from working with psychedelics, I do think it's important to be aware of the transformations that take place - not only when we trip but every second. Psychedelics have helped me become aware of this, and every time I experience them, I feel I understand a little more what it means to not be what I think I am, and to not be a constant thing, but rather a flux, a transmorphing energy network.

I hope to hear more from you in the future. And I hope you enjoy this wonderful community that can possibly become a home to you as well.

cheers & love

Enoon,

Most of what I know in regard to spiral dynamics, and the like, as of right now has been conveyed to me by a friend as well.

As far as what I see truth as, well, let me write this:

"Truth is a fictional concept originally meaning the quality of being steadfast in adherence to a commander, or friend, or principle, or cause or to one’s promises. Hence “True” meaning in essence to be honest, trustworthy, upright or virtuous, sincere and free from deceit.

As certain inferior entities throughout history have attempted to install and maintain their flawed model of Reality, the meaning of “truth” and “true” has been corrupted to mean facts, exact and agreement with a standard or rule of the controlling entity, regardless of reason, argument or logic. Hence “truth” has become wholly divorced from consistent virtuous behavior to simply being adherence to standards and rules, regardless of whether such rules were deliberately deceitful and corrupt.

Given the original and essential meaning of truth and true to be “free from deceit and deception”, any definition that attempts to imply truth or true to permit adherence to corrupt standards are inferior rules that are devoid of reason and logic is automatically rendered null and void".

I did not write this, however the essence of what is espoused I find to be most agreeable. Truth to me is knowledge free from deceit and deception; free from lies. The truth I seek is to know the real story, the whole story. I definitely understand the concept of multiplicity, however I am of the mind and heart that we can know. In knowing - that will encompass the multiple perspectives, considering the conscientiousness of the self-existing creator in all things, it seems to me that the multiplicity is in fact truth, or at the very least can be discerned into truth; to know what is true and what is false; to know what is fact or fiction. This isn't to say that there is not truth in the midst of deceit. I simply have no desire to be dogmatic or convicted about things based upon the 'sponsorship' of others, be they of this world or another.

History to me is much of the same, however I am inclined to think that another dynamic of it is why the people believe it. Typically I find it is a result of a narrative, into which people place faith, faith which falls outside of reason, facts, and most especially, first hand knowledge or experience which is then translated by where you are in your perception: archaic, magical, mythical, reason, integral, etc... Keep in mind I am simply sharing thoughts with you, the only thing I am absolutely solid on is I want knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. I have a feeling that it is inclusive of the dynamics and beliefs of society, but I am less interested in the delusions of society and people over the course of history than I am in knowledge of myself, those before me, and my creator, and, perhaps, their creator. Time will tell.

As far as getting results from psychedelics I would agree, however I have no experience with DMT and from what I have read it is a completely different creature than psilocybin, lysergic acid, peyote, and others similar. I will see I suppose.

Thanks for the response.

Peace,
Fior

Well, in my opinion mushrooms and lsd are very different as well. For me at least they have the same distance from each other as they do each have to dmt. One could argue that I have not had a proper experience with dmt, and then I would argue that perhaps others have not had a proper experience with the other substances... There's no way to tell though since this is all subjective.

I don't find one more powerful than the other, or dmt so outlandishly different that I wouldn't group it together with the other two. For me they are all wildly different flavours of the same thing, but I suppose that's because they are all linked to and viewed through the same living system, namely me.

I enjoyed your (or whoever wrote that) definition of truth. I think your search for it is laudable and will probably take you to some interesting places.
Have you been to any of the integral-movement meetings? I hear there's some people running around there that are worth meeting. I've met a few that belong to it in my country and it was very nice. I wish I had more time to participate more often.

cheers & love

Enoon,

No I haven't been to any groups, though I would imagine there are some around in the city that is about an hour away. I will definitely look into it when the chance is made. The quote came from the writings of this guy Frank O'Collins, he definitely seems to be incorporating spiral dynamics and integral theory however the jury is still out on him, even though an epic poem he wrote was the secondary catalyst to this recent 'revelation'. The search seems laudable to me as well. I just hope I find what I am looking for, sooner than later.

peace friend,
Fior
