Hello to everyone.

I'm not really sure how this is going to go to be honest but I guess that in this day in age an open mind is a blank canvass so I guess its one step at a time for me to start with.

After hearing about DMT and this web site since last Saturday over drinks with a couple of close pals that I hadn't seen for ages I found myself listening to their graphic descriptions of their journeys on DMT and it became apparent to me that this whole experience that they had is something completely different to anything that I have ever heard to exist EVER.... until now.

I was left gob smacked and was amazed from what I was hearing but also I had a head full of questions whilst at the same time a little cynical but as the conversation got into flow I was to start thinking this was for real....

From what I was hearing from my pals if I'm honest if they were to offer DMT to me there and then I would of most probably accepted their invitation and took the plunge but in hindsight I'm so glad that I didn't end up going blind head first into this.

Since then all I have been doing for the last 6 days every night after work is reading up and I'm happy that I did and from all the information I'm getting back from everything that I have read / watched about this so far (including on this website) I have come to the conclusion that I feel that I am not yet ready.

I need to ponder and work a little harder with myself first before I can move forward in order for a more possible positive set up.

I don't know if this is the right thing for me or not but I guess that I will find out in due course.

Welcome to the Nexus!

I think its good that you are being prudent and respectful towards the experience. Its certainly no simple walk in the park, and can be very existentially challenging. I suggest you check out the Health and Safety section (links above or in the welcome PM you received).

Keep reading the Nexus, would be interesting if you participate in discussions so you get a feeling on people's ideas and experiences, regardless if you try dmt now or not.

Did you take any psychedelics in life? Or other psychoactive substances?

If you do ever decide to try dmt, I suggest you look into extracting. Its easy, just takes a bit of reading to understand the basic principles but isnt harder than baking a cake (I would say baking a cake is quite harder actually).

Good luck, and see you around!

Its nice to see this getting a few hits. Smile

In reply to endlessness's question asking if I have taken any psychedelics Or other psychoactive substances? I would have to say yes to psychoactive substances but as for psychedelics it has only been a handful of times at the most of which on each occasion mushrooms were on the menu.

Its quite mad really because I am just wondering if anyone has in real life whilst sleeping normally experienced certain things that someone has explained has happened to them after they have had a DMT experience? I will give you an example if which is factual based on myself and my friends DMT experience.

Not very often but every now and again when I am asleep, I all of a sudden wake up with my heart racing like mad but for a split micro second before I awake I feel as If I am not able to breath or have stopped breathing (I'm thinking how long has that been going on for before I realise and wake up). Its as If I have to double check that I am actually breathing and I am but I'm not able to establish why this has happened and each time its happened I cant remember anything but all I do know is that I have been in a very very very deep sleep, I have no conception of time when I wake and things are a little oblivious and the surroundings of my bedroom have no orientation until I come around and remember where I am. (Hope that kinda makes sense)

Now.. when my friend was talking to me about what happened to him just before he broke through or like his come 'up' he mentioned about like the high pitched noise's, the sound of like polythene plastic being ripped apart on a ultra high volume as well as visuals but one thing that stood out to me was that just before he broke through he continued to explain that he felt as if his mind was saying that his stopping its self breathing but he also said that he had this feeling not to fight it. He then continued to say that he wanted to see through the other side. Then he let go.

I just found that a little bit surreal.

Another thing that was also extreamly weird was the description of an entity that my other friend was explaing about of which was quite similar to a dream I had towards the end of last year. But all I can remember was the person in it. This well and truly spun me out...

I hope I'm not sounding like a complete freak. Oh yeh Enoon, C6H5NO2 is the molecular formula for my avatar.

While description of certain parts of dmt experiences may for you now seem like in a way similar to hypnagogic/hypnopompic states (transition states of falling asleep or waking up) or dream, I can assure you dmt will completely blow your expectations and be far from it. Notice im not discarding your experiences, they might have been strong and called your attention, but nothing can really prepare you or signal what the dmt experience is like.

In fact, even after having used dmt several times, I would say each time can still completely break all your expectations. Its that impressive Shocked

Its all good it was just a very strange co-incidence...

What I have noticed by reading some peoples experiences on here is that before they breakthrough there would be vibrations, visuals, a sense of being unable to breath, loud sounds and the force of travelling at light speeed.

Is this kind of like a routine entry that takes you into hyperspace or is getting there different for everyone?

I would say the answer to that question is both yes and no... There are certainly similarities, but it also seems pretty unique from one trip to the next and from one person to the next - but then we can never really look into another person and have their exact experience, so who knows.

I wouldn't agonize of this too much. keep an open heart and an open mind and let it all flow - and you most likely won't be disappointed.

good luck and much love

And this is how it goes...

We hear about this crazy thing and thus begins the obsession - the late night searches for video clips, the reading, the writing, the dreaming - and then we either take the next step or decide to leave it to others.

Know up front that moving forward is an irrevocable step, and that by doing so you are entering into a binding contract of sorts. The things you see can't be unseen. The experience becomes a part of you. It is always there, creeping around the periphery of your consciousness. It can be unsettling, and (for me at least) it serves as a constant reminder - of the illusory nature of the physical world and all that which clamors beneath it.

Having said that, I can tell you that my discovery of (and experiences with) DMT have been the most profoundly spiritual event(s) of my lifetime. Cynics are always welcome here - but just in case, you may want to slip into an adult diaper prior to takeoff.

Welcome!

It sounds like you have experienced sleep paralysis or something similar and possibly astral projection or an out-of-body experience. The strong vibrations, loud noises, etc. are all common aspects for those things. If you can do those naturally...that is a wonderful gift! You might try exploring those and/or lucid dreams...they may be a bit easier on your psyche Pleased

I tried to do those things for periods of time prior to trying DMT, and have a little experience with them, but for me the entry into hyperspace is different. Over time, my entry has changed and mellowed out a bit. Now, it's more like hyperspace just 'turns on' behind my eyelids, whereas in the beginning it would come rushing at me from far away.

Great idea to read up on all this prior to taking the leap. Good luck and have fun!
