Here's a link for a safety data sheet for a conventional 'cutting oil' used in metal working. There are a few different types of cutting oil but this one seemed the least safe. It contains 'mineral oil' plus a few additives. It's probably best to wash the scrubbing pad with acetone and then water but this cutting oil does not appear to be very hazardous in small quantity. http://www.herchem.com/C...Dark%20Cutting%20Oil.pdf

Another thing to help minimize leakage/migration of liquid DMT down the glass sidewalls: Size your disc so that it is just slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the bowl/chamber. You want to minimize metal-to-glass contact. But don’t make the disc too small or much of the air flow will be around it rather than through it. gibran2 is a fictional character. I managed to acquire couple liquid pads now...
Cronic: Do you have any spice residues on the liquid pad after vaping? That is, for example when heating up the pad after vaping, there is no DMT left in the insides of the pad?

There was some left in there yeah, at the end i just heated it up alot & inhaled until the DMT taste went, as i don't want to stink out the case for the GVG.
If you wanted to 100% finish it all of in one go then a few big tokes, or one huge toke would do it, i got one big one and that was enough for me!

OK, so it's left there only if one cannot finish it in one session... I was wondering if there would be any residues in the inside left that couldn't be vaporized inside the genie. Did you get rid of the residue by heating it directly or in the genie?

I just inhaled with the lighter as if i was normally vaping (maybe a bit stronger) until i couldn't taste DMT anymore... everything you put in should be able to be vaped as there should only be DMT going in there if your using the liquid pad, if your putting herbs etc in there then there may be resins that gets stuck to it, although if you were using herbs you wouldn't need the liquid pad in the first place.

Unless your DMT is very pure and you vape it all every time, after multiple uses there will probably be some residue that accumulates. I assume this is pryrolyzed DMT and various impurities that don’t vaporize. It’s a good idea to periodically remove the pad/mesh and clean it. gibran2 is a fictional character. Yeah i should add, i have used the liquid pad with the GVG with 30mg only once, after a while some residues may build up unless you clean it everytime, as that beautiful picture you posted of your GVG shows!
I loved how clean the GVG looked when i returned, that glass is so beautiful & clear after a journey.

Some people recover this DMT residue using solvents. I just clean it out with vinegar. gibran2 is a fictional character. Any resemblance to anyone living or dead is purely coincidental.

Thanks Gibran2, I guess less is more in this case.
Anyone got a good method to clean the GVG? Of course getting as much spice back as possible is always good. I've filled the pipe with solvent and scraped off as much as I could with a wire but it really doesn't want to dissolve.
I wish I had an ultrasonic bath right now.
I also destroyed the liquid pad taking it out. It was a hard, stuck together mass, I had to pull it out piece by piece.

... Soak the whole thing in vinegar. You won’t be able to recover the spice (unless you basify the vinegar and do a few NP pulls), but that should get it as clean as new. Also, when you get everything back in order, only load up a single dose at a time and use the entire dose before reloading. gibran2 is a fictional character. What!? Buy some nail polish remover (acetone), run through GVG, done! If you want to recover & vape the goods then make sure to buy pure acetone and then evap it in a glass dish to leave behind the DMT.

Why he cannot recover the spice? If he pours some acetone through it into a proper container, he can let it evaporate and then scrape off the goods. Tweebs: Get a torch lighter

I noticed that, but I didn't write quite well to make my point... That it's much easier to recover the spice with acetone than it is with vinegar.

I was speaking purely from the standpoint of cleaning – it’s my experience that vinegar is the best “solvent” for removing those stubborn spice deposits. And it’s less expensive than acetone. From a spice-recovery point of view, acetone, IPA, or another solvent is of course more convenient. gibran2 is a fictional character. Any resemblance to anyone living or dead is purely coincidental.

I managed to clean it up very well. I filled the VG with Naphtha and put the pipe in a bowl that would hold it upright so the solvent covered all the parts of the glass that had spice stuck to it. I then filled the bowl with HOT water to the edge of the pipe bowl and let it sit for a couple hours. Drained the Naphtha and freeze percip'ed. I got nearly 0.6g back.
Time to give this another shot. Torch lighter and less pad.
I'll report back...

Whoa Chronic: can you get some pics of your liquid pad cut and fit? I'm going to cut mine and would like to see how you did it since you got good results...

I'll report back... And watch out not to suck to hard on the GVG. Then the spice is more likely to go through and down to the bent chamber before it gets vaporized. ––––––

I trimmed a volcano liquid pad around the edges with a pair of scissors (keeping the original thickness of the pad) then pushed it down into the GVG bowl I also have 3 screens under the liquid pad Swarupa attached the following image(s): 2011-01-16 12.41.35.jpg (1,499kb) downloaded 435 time(s). 2011-01-16 12.44.13.jpg (1,618kb) downloaded 433 time(s). 2011-01-16 12.45.44.jpg (1,617kb) downloaded 431 time(s).
