Hey fellow mind brothers,
while waiting for Hexan (couldn't find Heptan online whether in germany nor EU, not even in UK) for growing crystals,
I thought I'd try Naphta, since I have a lot of it

The whitish/non shiny ones spent their last hours in the freezer.(not a good idea...) The finer shiny ones were removed when growing stopped. And then the rest of the naphta went into the freezer. I didn't evap them directly since the Naphta would be gone too fast. (I use 'Wundbenzin'40/65 which is very fast evaporating at room temps)
I left the top of the glass petri dish on it, so the naphta slowly evaped over 1,5 days.

The biggest one is 250mgrs.

Some of them are re-x of non shiny material or yellow stuff. The good thing is the yellow stuff separates nicely when drown in warm (37° celsius) naphta, but there is still yellow tint carried over but at least no waxes anymore.
The majority is a first pull left with room temps. for 1 or 2 days with a small hole in the wrapping (for slow evaporation).

There are more crystals to come. I love to get them out and crystalize them. Fumaric acid is just round the corner. (still on its way to me)
I want to be sure to never have to miss it and therefore I am doing so much extractions. Don't worry, I never sold a single mushroom and believe me I grew enough over the years to intoxicate whole New York At the shroom forums they are always crying when they realize I throw the fruits on the compost pile after printing.
Really, I only trip on natural grown Semilanceata! And rarely make exceptions on that rule. (I did it with Semperviva, Zapotecorum and indoor Semislanceata f.e.)

I'd love to grow my own liberty caps, i've only tried them once so far and they are hands down my favorite mushrooms.

Some more the 1st pull (100grs. bras whole bark -powdered-) just out of the (warm) jar and placed for 8h beside. I rinsed the naphta and there are more but I wnated to avoid that the crystals turn yellow. So I rinsed.

Funny is there are only small ones (but heavily). Any ideas why that is so?
The 2nd dish with another 100grs. are forming the large 'usual' ones I've had before.

Yeah, they are although they look a bit yellow when scraped together, but only on the picture- my eyes only see clear crystals.

The other jar with 100gr whole bark powdered yielded 750mg in the first pull. The yellow big boy on the pix is 200mg. I rinsed the naphta to avoid that they turn all yellow. There is still DMT in the naphta which is now in the freeze to drop it out. Once I get the Hexan I'll evap the whole solution. Or I'll do a re-x with clear crystals to avoid the yellow color. (though they are still beautiful in any way)

Some more crystals. They really are not that yellow in real light. The camera lens somehow shows them more 'unpure'.
The big ones are grown from crystal seeds at roughly 75mg, now weighting 150mg.

Those on the pic above your post are 700mg. The big one is 200mg.
And yeah the blue back is much better in contrast. And show more of their beauty. Though in real light through your human eyes they are sparkling much much more.

I will never stick with the white fluffy non shiny freezer stuff. Its so worth to grow at least small crystals like above. And if you do it carefully measuring the temps right you're loosing only a few molecules.

I seem to get rectangular shards not pointy one's like your getting, well done for scraping them without destroying them, i haven't got that figured out quite yet...

How do you scrape those without damaging them? Is there a technique, or is it just a gentle hand and sufficient practice?

Hey back.
About scraping. I use a very thin razorblade, cutted in a half.. this is so expandable it can scratch curves.
I scrape up the crystals carefully and afterwards their residue (often with the yellow goo/oxides) will be used again for new crystal solution/growing.

Here's my greatest success till now. Still all done with NAPHTA, not Hexan/Heptan.
I am beginning to ask myself if I really should have spent that 25Euros on the liter Hexan I ordered

I want to point out again, that they are not grown on open air, the Naphta would evap far too fast then. There is always a foil on top of the container/dish.
After the crystals grow big enough and wouldn't get bigger I rinse the remaining naphta and let it freeze to get the rest out of it for the next re-x solution.
