Hello all of you people from far and wide,

After lurking around this forum for well over a year now - I have finally decided to join and interact on the Nexus. I was attracted to this particular forum initially through my passion for the weird/wonderful/deep and I have to say the many minds of this part of cyberspace have delivered!
For this I would like to express my thanks to you all. The multitude of ideas, stories, opinions and pieces of genuine wisdom and insight that I have uncovered here have all had an influence on me one way or another. As well as this the overall conceptual moral compass of this forum is both strong and balanced as well as very well maintained by its members IMO.

I would say one of the most intriguing things about the DMT Nexus is the sheer amount of imaginative, progressive, spontaneous and open-minded thinking that is shared, leading one to gather inspiration either in the form of ideas or emotion. I would even go as far as to say that some of the content I have found on the Nexus has helped me in my psychological development and therefore it has most probably aided others on their own unique journeys.

Its late and I can probably elaborate on this, but yeah, long story short this is a brief, long-time-coming, congratulatory note for you all. Just a small, hodge-podged attempt at a reminder that you have all 'kindled the light in the darkness of mere being', as Carl Jung would put it.

Anyway I may as well keep this first post absurd by offering out a view of Being that I personally enjoy: that an intelligent, imperfect, natural, evolving system of digital potential exists of which we are all a part.

But who really knows? Lets stay optimystic forever.

Yeah, the way this "maintaining" part works is truly magical sometimes, with the yin/yang of actions/reactions playing themselves out in the evolution of this particular group mind...

Oh and by the way, v good work on your additions to the 'Dmt Nexus Quotes' thread in the hyperspace tavern (one of my favourite threads). A considerably compelling list now exists there!

So one thing you didnt mention though is your experience with dmt and other psychedelics... Also, have you extracted dmt yet?

Ah. Theres a reason why I didnt mention it, because I've never actually used DMT...

The only drug that could be termed 'psychedelic' that I've done is Cannabis, which gave me:
- Many spooky experiences,
- A ridiculous amount of psychoanalyzing and philosophical thought,
- Terence Mckenna as my biggest hero and idol,
- A loud gigglish high pitched laugh which has stayed with me til this day,
- and eventually brought about a psychosis and delusions etc (all the good stuff basically) after smoking it too much in too short a time period.

Anyway the main reason why I'm here is that I still have a major interest in psychedelics, most probably because of their innate weirdness - making me innately weird myself probably.

Maybe I should just join a cannabis forum... But I just like the way people think here and its certainly one of the most interesting forums that I have ever found on the web in terms of subject matter. Also I may well use DMT someday, when the stage is set up in just the right way. I've heard some remarkable things about it

That sentence is a good summing up of the picture I have in my head of the 'process' that is occuring in which we find ourselves in. I don't know if you're familiar with this TED talk or not but I like what this guy is doing with computation in order to most closely immitate how the universe has unfolded... As one person said on the TED website:" "Computational irreducibility of candidate universes" suggests a sort of DNA for all the universe as we know it - and it is this 'genome' he tries to reach through mathematics" <-- Now thats what I like to hear. And wolfram alpha looks like the next step towards A.I...

Also theres all the talk about the singularity, increased speed of development etc (and just general scientific advancements) which I'll try and bring up here and talk about occasionally if anyones interested.

Haha, after rereading my first post that 'sticky syrup' analogy is very apt! It needed to be said though! The Truth will out as they say.

Also i'm sure my character will be transferred and deciphered as time goes by, just as many others have before and many others will in the future.

But for now I will tell you another view I like from Trey Parker and Matt Stone (Heroes, and fellow empathisers of Alan Watts). Kyle on the subject of imaginary characters: Because I- [catches himself] I... Um... because I think... they are real. It's all real. Think about it. Haven't Luke Skywalker and Santa Claus affected your lives more than most real people in this room? I mean, whether Jesus is real or not, he... he's had a bigger impact on the world than any of us have. And the same could be said of Bugs Bunny and, a-and Superman and Harry Potter. They've changed my life, changed the way I act on the Earth. Doesn't that make them kind of "real." They might be imaginary, but, but they're more important than most of us here. And they're all gonna be around long after we're dead. So in a way, those things are more realer than any of us. [Cartman begins a slow clap, then speeds it up. The techs in the room join in and soon everyone is applauding Kyle's speech]
