Hi, I have been lurking around these forums for maybe a good 3 months and have been learning to the best of my ability to extract DMT and be successful at it. I finally got all the supplies in about a week ago and I'm at my first problem. I wanted to post a question and get an answer but as I have learned I can not yet.

I don't know if this is the right thing to do at all? But I'm in the middle of an extraction and I'm not sure how long it would take to get promoted so sorry if i offend any for asking this question here now instead of waiting.

I have all the materials except I have pre-powdered bark and that's okay from what I've read, I just have to use 1.5-2x more water.

When I have all my measurements out and I already have the naphtha in the jar and ready to be pulled, I find it extremely hard to get much naphtha if any at all with out the reddish bark mixture in my turkey baster. My question is will it hurt to add more naphtha so it would be easier to suck the naphtha with the turkey baster or is that completely wrong and I should go spend the money on a separation flask or siphon can't remember name now.

Another question is if I used the tek where it suggest putting everything in the steel mixing bowl and the separating the naphtha from there how would I go about doing that? Just pouring it over the edge because that also sounds hard and messy.

Sorry If i totally screwed up and this is completely against the rules but and I didn't wait for promotion..it just i finally have all materials and I'm very eager to start my adventure.Very happy

Hi Breakdown, welcome to the Nexus. As a new member, you actually have access to four different sections within the Nursery. You can see them listed here.

Regarding your questions:
1) A little more information would be helpful here, like which tek you used and the measurements. Specifically, how much naptha is currently in the mixture and whether you shook it up and created a emulsion layer.

2) With the steel mixing bowl, it sounds like you're referring to one of the dryteks that uses hydrated lime instead of lye as the base. Because the lime is not water soluble, you end up with a paste that is much closer to wet sand in composition. The naptha naturally seeps out of it to the surface, making it relatively easy to pour without getting messy.

Again, welcome!

I am also using a turkey baster and was having a bit of a problem. My solution was to transfer all the naptha and a bit of gunk into a tall glass. I then washed out the baster and removes the naptha from the tall glass. The narrower cross section makes the second removal much easier than the first.

I have a couple of different jars with different amounts and can still have about 300g of powdered bark left. But one of the jars has 300ml water, 10g bark, 10g lye, and 20ml naphtha.
