Is there a difference between food grade and technical grade for use in extraction teks?
To stb or not to stb, that is the extraction.

As long as no significant amounts end up in your final product it shouldn't matter. Though some people do swear by food grade, I use what I can get and just make sure to clean everything thoroughly before consuming.
