SWIM did the best he could filtering the powdered rootbark but some got through. So as he had the liquid from the a/b to near-boiling for reducing, he noticed a layer would form on top. If disturbed, it would break back up, but he got a good bit of it out with a strainer. It was very sticky, and he thought it was fats so he kept removing it. He then kicked himself and wondered if perhaps it was dmt acetate. He didn't think it would be since at higher temperatures it should be more water soluble and not come out of the solution. Then he thought that maybe since the temp was high enough and it turned to liquid, maybe it would separate.

anyone else notice this or have any ideas to what the removed layer was? yield is still uncertain but looks to be between 0.1% and 0.3%.

0.1 to 0.3 from mimosa is quite low ! SWIY should proceed a STB on the residues left (bark and sticky thing) and I bet he would gather much more spice.

both were thrown out to keep his project confidential. he was pretty confident he did a thorough a/b. the low yield (so far) could be due to only freeze preciping about 8 hours. he is on a time limit unfortunately.
