ok , i am 18 years old and will be going to college next year so i wont be doing dmt until after college . i am not really social (always had a hard time with socialization) , i have a difficult time making connections ( to give u an idea of how lost i am with anything involving other people: i have had a desire to do psychedelics since 2008 , i go to a highschool full of drugs , and i havent found a connection for anything but pot,and even the only weed connection i have is unreliable, its not shyness its just that im introverted ) . ok so i am not likely to be able to find a lot of connections in college. so it is quite possible that dmt i extract by myself will be the first psychedelic experience ever (unless u count a low dose few morning glory experiences i have had).

i have always had a desire for altered states of conciousness, i have always wondered what its like to be in deep meditation or in different brain wave frequencies, ive been interested in dreams, how infants think, etc. dmt is the best thing that i have read about in terms of of revealing what is in my subconcious or maybe even into the spiritual realm.

however,of the dmt experiences i have read about people having on erowid; there are only a few that really seem "deep" and spiritual. the experiences of terrence mckenna that i have read about and watched videos about on youtube were really deep, it was terrence mckenna's experiences that made me want to try dmt. however , after reading some of the erowid experiences on dmt , i noticed that only a few of the experiences came close to what terrence mckenna described. many if not most of the experiences were something like " i saw a woman standing over me and she whispered a few words to me , and then i came back" . however a few of the experiences seemed to be something truely interesting, something that you will learn from , etc. such as this one : http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=16314

what is the difference between someone who does dmt numerous times and never achieves a spiritual experience (though they will still leave their body and experience a strong psychedelic experience , they wont experience anything interesting) and someone who has a good life changing experience the first time they do dmt.

ok i have 4 years till i do dmt unless im able to find it in college. in that time , what can i do to make my first dmt experience something meaningful? if i do meditation more and learn astral projection, would that help my dmt experience be something interesting?

You can't guarantee that the first experience is going to be life changing, it takes some people numerous attempts to finally reach that state. I have had spiritual experiences but it just takes a lot of work to get the most out of DMT, only experience can prepare you for it.

I think it is important to go into the experience not expecting anything.

Accept what is has to teach you, it may be an ultra-spiritual experience, it may not be.

One way to find out! Pleased

For me, and for the friends I have introduced to it, EVERY EXPERIENCE has been markedly different (excluding low doses of smoked <not vaped> changa). This just seems to be the nature of the drug...

If anything, I would say the music/sounds at the time have the greatest effect on the trip... you can ride the vibrations to different planes. It's just impossible to know WHICH planes music will take you to until you try.

Michaell,
I think, that by thinking you are non-connected or anti-social is self-defeating in a way. Although, this may be true, you have found something here at least on this forum to make you feel connected at least...right? In the excerpt you linked, even the author states about being one thing and coming through another and that using DMT to prove something (which kinda seems like what you are looking for) was a bad idea.
I say this with compassion, and experience...but if you persist your thoughts in the same manner as your post, I feel with or without spice you are going to feel like a failure consistently.
Do your task, with disregard of success or failure (paraphrased from the Bhaghavad Gita).
Let FEAR be your motivator...what are you scared of by talking to that cute girl? Why don't you mention how you also like that obscure reference of a tattoo that only you and another handful of people understand.

On a lighter note, have you seen the Osho talk on the most important word? Humor is also important...laugh at yourself...a lot.

Ayahuasca may serve as a more integrated and manageable approach to unearthing, processing, and understanding the subconscious. I have made many trips to in utero myself... The longer time window of the oral experience is more useful for this kind of exploration.

Smoked DMT, however, I have also found equally invaluable.

Both are great gifts, slightly different tools to achieve similar ends.
Some things will come easy, some will be a test

The best way is to find your own way with DMT.
When I first embarked on this journey I had read alot of accounts and did alot of research . It took a while to get to the point of actually trying it. After my first few journeys i realized quickly the amazing power and potencial of this stuff. I also realized that my personal experience was
nothing like anything i had read about it. I instinctively began a "no expectation" approach to my experiences. A "no expectation" approach will serve you well. It seems we build our personal relationship with this substance over time and we are all different in our experiences.

Its deeply personal and universal all at the same time. It is a truly unique authentic experience, stark and devoid of hype.

Once embarked on the journey its tempting to call it something, attempt to name it, or try to make sense of it.

Avoid this natural temptation and just BE with it for a while take it as it comes, open yourself to possibility.

After many years now of experiences it still remains totally mystical and amazing to me.
Its still one of my true loves.......
The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.

im sure most if not all who have done dmt, pure or in other forms for some time have experienced a deep journey.
i believe it is just the language that we use that poses a problem to express many hyperspace articles.
Terence Mckenna being very experienced in his journeys also is more capable in his story telling.

the day will come for when you go on that journey and youll find out how beyond words everything seems to be.

to make this mundane world sublime, take half a gram of phanerothyme.. to fathom hell or soar angelic, just take a pinch of psychedelic..
