I have a few questions that are keeping me up at night. I'm looking for other peoples theories ideas or insights.
1. What is the purpose of our exsistance? Are we just here to house a spirit? Am I even me?
2. Is space infinite? There has to be a starting point of time and space right? If there is a start there must be an end?
3. Were humans created by another civilization or were we truly created by god? is there a god?
4. Has anybody else had thoughts like these? Do they drive you crazy?

Theres more but my 3 year old is driving me more crazy so i need to give him some attn.

One more thing, I lay in bed at night wishing I could die(not in a suicidal way) just so I can get some answers!

Thanks for listening

Hmmmmm

1. 3 cats, a dog and a half penny mojo in your back pocket!!! --- its as good an answer as any concerning this
2. Yes there was a starting point but space is technically infinite --- just the way it works
3. Highly unlikely on all three counts --- out of the three I would have to go for another civilization before a god but still very highly unlikely
4. Yes and Yes

Most questions like these have been and always will be pondered at some time by us but the truth is "WE DON'T KNOW" and more than likely never will.

As for dying for answers --- I'll see when the time comes/ life's more interesting than death

Since this is all subjective, I'll just throw my views on the subject up here
1. No. We are just a bunch of biological and purely physical constructs that live on a tiny planet near a relatively small sun. No more, no less. The only purpose is the one YOU make.
2. Kind of. I don't know physics and the theories well enough to comment really, but it seems so. I like to think of the universe as a fractal universe, that atoms are universes in themselves and that universes are atoms on a larger scale. I have no proof for this though, just one of my favorite speculations.
3. I don't believe so. Humans probably evolved the same way as all the other species on the planet.
4. Yes, no. These thoughts are the essence of life, questioning our very origin and what makes us up. They are a good thing to have and theres nothing wrong with that. God or not, day to day life is the same. So figure it out for yourself and try to enjoy life.

By the way, my thoughts on dying is that it's the end. Kaput. No more. Eternal nothingness when our brains cease.

Why should there be a purpose in life? Living and staying alive is no longer a purpose strong enough? I mean, animals and plants appear to have no purpose except to stay alive and procriate. And I think that in the end they live much better than us and all our noble purposes. Confused

“Our planet is poorly equipped for delight.
One must snatch gladness from the days that are.
In this life it's not difficult to die.
To make life is more difficult by far”

By Vladimir Mayakovsky

Q-1. What is the purpose of our existence?

i think its more or less a "choose your own adventure" kind of thing. ie' finding your own answer to that question because its really about the journey of self discovery and not the destination. the destination can and will vary from person to person and actually isn't very relevant anyways. its the path, the journey and remembering who we are that is the purpose of our existence.

Are we just here to house a spirit? Am I even me?

of coarse we are not just a spirit, and your probably not who you think you are. most people feel they are a sum total of their life experiences and situations. if you think that's the end of the road then maybe you don't understand who you are.

Q-2. Is space infinite?

i dont think we can know that. that's why the term "observable universe" is used. because of the speed limit of light we can only see 14.4 billion light years because that all the time light has had to travel at the start of the big bang. whether or not there's anything past that point.... well cosmologists dedicate entire careers on that question so i don't think anyone will be answering that tonight.

There has to be a starting point of time and space right? If there is a start there must be an end?

no not really. look up Carl Sagan videos on youtube. he does an excellent demonstration that shows how this might not be the case. plus he is an amazing person so you should watch him anyway.Wink

Q-3. Were humans created by another civilization or were we truly created by god? is there a god?

whooof! thats a doozy.... for me the verdict is still out but i will say it has to do with defining God. keep all the dogmatic bullshit away from that term and it still gets mis-used. do i think God created us, well i think God is everything, but God to me is more of a force than a personified being. i dont think there is a being or a singularity that is God.
i think highly evolved beings from other galaxies or other dimensions helped create modern humans. why? i dont know. i just dont know. maybe theres just a super force that directs and dictates all and everything but really is just natural and explainable physics. who knows. i tend to lean twords yes there is a God but we are way off base in what we think God is.

Q-4. Has anybody else had thoughts like these? Do they drive you crazy?

i think we all have had these thoughts. it feels great to have lived long enough and consciously enough to have my own answers.

thanks for throwing this up.

i suspect the meaning of our existance is an attempt to unravel the mystery of the meaning of our existance. i dont think the creative force even knows how or why the whole thing is as it is, nor where its going....Shocked
*sigh*

good insight, thank you all for your responses. It's crazy how 2 months of dmt use can completely make one question 30+ years of belief.

I think the purpose of our exsistance is to live, love, teach, and learn.
I think space was created infinitey, no beginning and no end
I'm still figuring out the god issue, I very much beleive and have faith in god, but i'm not sure exactly what/who god is

Thank you for your opinions
