Schnazzy item - be sure to congratulate your grackle!

JBArk is a Mandelthought; a non-fiction character in a drama of his own design he calls "LIFE" who partakes in consciousness expanding activities and substances; he should in no way be confused with SWIM, who is an eminently data-mineable and prolific character who has somehow convinced himself the target he wears on his forehead is actually a shield.

Definitely a nice way to go for evaporation and reclamation of solvents... I want a lot of different toys in my toy box that I will have to take some time in acquiring.
Everything mentioned herein has been deemed by our staff of expert psychiatrists to be the delusional rantings of a madman who has been treated with Thorazine who is hospitalized within the confines of our locked facility. This patient sometimes requires the application of 6 point leather restraints and electrodes at the temples to break his delusions. Therefore, take everything mentioned above with a grain of salt...

the bird used one back in the day in polymer synthesis, the rotovap leaves behind beautiful crystals in the spinning flask. very familiar with using them

this is like an appliance. many possibilities, from homebrew alcohol distillation, essential oil purification, to recrystallization.

Found an older one Smile
With some missing parts. Would like to ask some questions about it to the more experienced.

- need to buy tubes to connect the vacuumpump. Does it matter in respect to the used solvents what material it is made of?

- the specs of the pump are:
34l/min/ultimate vacuum 8mbar abs/max contin pressure 1 bar/ permiss temperat +5...+40C
That means that a boiling point will be brought down with 30C? hexaan-> from 69 to 38
What does abs means? +40C ?

- there is no manometer with it or any regulator. Is this necessary?

- there is no clip to secure the evaporator ball flask to the tube of the rotavap. is this neceessary?

Would be great if someone could help me with these questions....

+40C ? maximum ambient operating temperature.

a regulator of some sort is recommended

- there is no clip to secure the evaporator ball flask to the tube of the rotavap. is this neceessary? yes

Thank you so much! I am working hard to get it working... Maybe you want to answer another question for me?

I have a vacuum membrane pump but the woulfe's bottle is missing.
How important is a woulfe's bottle?

Secondly, I want to use a round-bottom flask for evaporation. But I see on pictures that a more conicly form flask is been used. Does it matter?

sounds like it's used as a vacuum vapor trap. it's not critical
