Wow, what an amazing experience. Half a gram edible brownie (I think it was a hash brownie). SWIM picked up one at a dispensary here in CA. Wow, I never knew marijuana could produce such effects, I always underestimated its potential. I rarely smoke weed, and if I do it's only a bowl or two, and I do get high. So I ingested the brownie and about 20 minutes later I could feel it coming on. I was really heavy, numb, and euphoric. That was just the beginning. About half an hour later I was the most stoned I've ever been in my life. I had no idea this drug was capable of achieving such insight and mental nostalgia. It presented me with the idea that everything is encompassed in the present. Memories and thoughts from my past were appearing and, though forgotten, I was once again aware of them, everything was adding up. I was experiencing extreme deja vu, seemingly everything was incorporated to be played out before my eyes during the few hours I was high. It brought out every aspect of myself, my personality, my ego, and was confronting me, as well as the people around, who seemed to take on different states of being, leaving me with the idea that my perception has everything to do with everything. Everything in my life can only exist because of what I have personally experienced, like connecting things to ideas, and thoughts to actions that led me to where I am now. I had no idea I could experience so much in so little time. It really brought out the nature in things, and people, and life, it seemed like a dreamstate that can't be acheived in reality, it definitely does have hallucinogenic properties and I was experiencing alienness at some instances like when you smoke a little bit of DMT. Not only did I feel like I was going to die, I lost connection with my surroundings and needed to be alone, the paranoia and uncomfortability was overwhelming but it was worth the time, and I assured myself it would be okay. I think marijuana should only be used occassionally, but in higher doses to use it effectively, I'm sure I will be eating it again.

A great thing to learn in life is to never underestimate anyone or thing.

I live in, Colorado and not long ago received my MMJ card. I take breaks now and then that are two days long, but I will openly state that I smoke Cannabis daily.

Meditation on Cannabis is quite insightful with any amount ingested. I have discovered and learned much about myself, and have had many weights baring down on me from my past removed thanks to Cannabis.
Do not listen to anything, "Steely" says. He is a made up character that his owner likes to role play with. His owner is very delusional and everything he says is completely untrue and ridiculous.

I think that using cannabis orally is often overlooked as a ROA; it has marked psychedelic properties if the dose is large enough and I reckon it can be a good preliminary taste of the psychedelic experience for those who are a little wary of jumping straight in with psilocybin/mescaline/LSD.

Certainly, hashish is not the most pleasant tasting substance but an excellent way to ingest it is to crumble it up, mix it in a small pot of a fruit yoghurt and slurp it down. This avoids most of the taste being experienced.3.5g of fine sticky Afghani black taken this way was definitely comparable to an OK dose of a proper psychedelic but there was some nausea at the peak.
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

Hmm very interesting to hear. I wonder if any of the bio/chemistry buffs here have any idea why cannabis seems so different when eaten - perhaps it's similar to the distinction between smoked DMT and aya/pharmahuasca-type brews. Thanks to DMT my relationship with Mother Mary Jane has moved to the back of my life; I used to smoke throughout the day every day, but haven't had a smoke or a regret about not smoking in two months. Eating sounds very intriguing because it's a new way to take it that seems very powerful, according to what you say (the only time I've had cannabis treats I think I overdosed and passed out!), and it doesn't have the lure of smoking since it's a one-off thing - it seems more difficult to re-dose by eating, whereas with smoking all it takes to redose is a simple puff. I'm afraid I developed a bit of an unhealthy habit with smoking it, so this offers great possibilities, thanks for bringing it up!

When eaten it metabolizes differently and has different metabolites that have stronger, more psychedelic effects.
As a psychedelic it can have the same intensity as LSD.
But tolerance lasts incredibly long and therefore heavy users will not notice this effect at all.

I haven't taken cannabis for almost three years now, and quitting has definately been a great improvement in my life. Sometimes though, i wonder how it would be to smoke some on a ayahuasca or peyote peak.
