I've used mugwort, and its helped a little, but hasn't been as impressive as I hoped. Shortly after I got mugwort I found out syrian rue works too.
I tried mixing syrian rue and mugwort and smoking. It gave great dreams that night.

Many times since I've smoked just syrian rue before bed, and its gave me dreams very often, probably more than the mugwort.
Just thought I'd make this thread, as I had syrian rue for a while and never thought it would help with dreams.

Anyone else have experience with it?

Yep. It seems it is the harmaline in it, SWIM has never gotten the obvious effects on dreams with caapi but he has gotten crazy dreams on rue brew and rue-extract many times.

Some other notable dream alter-ators:

Damaina
Wormwood/Thujone
GHB
datura inoxia

Also SWIM finds that not the night after but the second night after a trip produces extreme dreams

IE: take mescaline on the day of july 15th, the dreams on the night of july 16th are crazy.
All 3 of SWIM's fully-lucid dreams were on the night of the day after tripping!

This effect has been observed on shrooms, LSD, LSA, 2c-e, 2c-b.... pretty much every tryptamine/phenethylamine
Q21Q21's Tek: A comprehensive guide to extracting DMT
The 2 teks use non-toxic lime and vinegar and Tek 1: d-Limonene or Xylene or Tek 2: Naptha to produce very quick high yields with the greatest of ease.

I am almost never on this site anymore so I will likely not answer PMs

Yes, it's the harmaline. It's GREAT for dreaming. It enhances dreams and also helps you fall asleep (if taken without harmine).

Harmaline a often overlooked as simply an MAOI. It's far more than an MAOI. It's useful for insomnia, useful for inducing dreams, and even used on its own as a psychedelic.

Harmaline has some effects which harmine and THH lack. The most noticeable one is its sedative effects. Both harmine and THH are more simulating than harmaline. But neither harmine nor THH will cause enhanced dreams the way harmaline can.

A mix of 60-120 mg of harmaline and 5-10 Datura inoxia seeds is one of the best sleeping aids known to man kind. Not only will you fall asleep faster, but you’ll have far more dreams than you ever have normally.

One of the main reasons SWIM has harmaline is for use as a sleeping aid. If he ever can’t sleep, he takes a little harmaline and Datura inoxia, and within 10 minutes, he’s asleep. It’s not an unsatisfying sleep either. He wakes up feeling refreshed the following day.

I highly recommend this mix for both increasing dreams and combating insomnia. It’s fantastic. SWIM has tried pretty much every OTC sleeping pill and herb you can get. Nothing works better than the harmaline + D. inoxia mix.

Sometimes it's a bit much, and all you need is something mild like passionflower or valerian. SWIM reserves the harmaline mix for when it's really needed.
You may remember me as 69Ron. I was suspended years ago for selling bunk products under false pretenses. I try to sneak back from time to time under different names, but unfortunately, the moderators of the DMT-Nexus are infinitely smarter than I am.

If you see me at the waterpark, please say hello. I'll be the delusional 50 something in the American flag Speedo, oiling up his monster guns while responding to imaginary requests for selfies from invisible teenage girls.

More good dreamworld allies:

Melatonin
Datura stramonium: jimsom weed, thornapple
Calea zacatechichi: dream herb
Silene capensis: African dream root

If mugwort and wormwood potentiate dreams then might yarrow (Acillea millefolium) also potentiate dreams?
I've heard that yarrow has been used to produce absinthe

Achillea millefolium does work good for dreaming, but I find that Artemisia spp. is better and more consistent. Note that Achillea millefolium can have huge differences in effect between plant and plant and habitat and habitat, as the plant is able to drastically alter it's chemic constituents and appearance according to growing conditions.

another one is diphenhydramine(benadryl,or unisom)I take it rarely for insomnia everytime I take one,or two I always remember my dreams better(compared to not usually remembering any) and sometimes get weird dreams. I like it even less than melatonin though it's probably better for dreaming it makes me feel lazy the next day.

Any side effects of melatonin? I never trusted taking it, but have some at home.

Is damiana effective? I have some, but never considered it good for dreaming.

Do you guys think mixing mugwort and syrian rue would be better than just using twice the amount of one of them?
