For those of you who say that the Leonurus family is useless, you are quite wrong. Yes, many of them have mild effects, but there are some others that are quite nice.
One that I would like to talk about is Leonurus Sibiricus, or Siberian Motherwort. It was give the nickname Maruhuanilla, meaning, little marijuana. No, it is not as powerful as the greens, but you shouldn't expect it to be either.
(I am not advocating that site, thats just a good pick
)
To experience nice effects from this plant, I cannot stress how important it is to grow it yourself. It is extremely easy to grow, and will spread nicely once spring comes again. It is also very hardy and once over 3 ft, can last many weeks without water.
As for the effects, they seem to be different smoked and drunk in tea. As a tea, it tastes fine, and gives a nice calming relaxing feeling.
You can also smoke the leaves. Make sure you hold it in for as long as you can, and smoke a minimum of 2 leaves. When smoked, they produce significant calming effects, as well as a body buzz and slight mind buzz similar to low doses of cannabis (.1 or .2). The effects do not last as long as marijuana, and although similar, they are NOT quite the same.
When harvesting the leaves, they are most potent as the plant just enters the flowering stage.
So give this plant a try, it no cannabis, but its nice in its own way.
