Hello, I should post this in max ion tek topic but can't post there yet. So ...

In that tek we should add 1 liter of salt water to solution before adding lye. The volume will need big vesels (I use a 1000cc separatory funnel). Why not just adding the salt to solution? Or maybe doing it with less water?

I got 400cc of filtered solution and need to act soon
Maybe I just go with cyb's salt tek on this one

The main thing to bear in mind is that salt won't dissolve very easily in lye solution since the concentration of sodium ions inhibits its solubility.

I wouldn't put bark powder sludge in a sep funnel, btw. If you really want to try out the sep funnel, you're better off making a clean, filtered acidic tea to which you can add salt and base. Otherwise just use some big jars. The naphtha that you'll be collecting floats to the top. In a sep funnel the sludge would be at the bottom and clog up the inlet.

[EDIT: apols for lack of reading comprehension re filtered tea - serves me right for checking the Nexus at stupid o'clock again Embarrased ]

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

Thanks. I already filtered solution with buchner funnels and Ashless filter papers
First few 41 and then some 40 ashless. I added 30 gr salt in 100 ml hot water and added to solution. Some white particles formed. Then I basifyed.

Now I'm going to add warm naphtha
I will compare the result with salt tek

If there was no difference I will stick to it
Maybe just keep the freeze thaw from max ion 🤔

In my experience, and maybe it's how finely ground and the quality of my bark, but the freeze/thaw doesn't seem to do much. I skip it.

One love
