I have only tried rue and acrb, I have read many trip reports about the different types of admixture plants, but I was wondering what is your favorite way to dose ayahuasca or anahuasca. Do you prefer the vine or Syrian rue? Do you prefer psychotria viridis, diplopterys cabrerana, acrb, or mhrb? Thanks for your responses and if you want to compare them or give personal reports or examples that would be cool. Please include any details you may have noticed and dosages you took.

STS is a community for people interested in growing, preserving and researching botanical species, particularly those with remarkable therapeutic and/or psychoactive properties.

I have not done this, I only used it for dream purposes… but the energy was so good it just hit me like a ton of bricks: this should totally be used.

Silene Capensis.

It would be perfect because I do cold water extractions. Put the Silene Capensis and the Mimosa or Acacia in a jar of water together, shake for a week, boil a shot of rue separately, drink together at night time…. I bet it would go well.

One thing you should know is these brews often involve things beyond DMT/harmala containing plants like the ones you’ve listed.

Personally I’ve only done rue+mimosa/acacia/pure DMT, and pure harmine+pure DMT, and pure harmine+5-MeO-DMT.

Mimosa was a bit more serious than acacia. I honestly quite liked the purity of just harmine and DMT, although I also like the wider range plants give. But in all honesty, they’re all pretty identifiably “oral DMT” trips. I did not dislike pure harmine because it made the trips closer to “classical psychedelic” trips without harmalas. But; I also don’t mind rue! I’ve loved it all and mostly choose based on convenience and price Smile

Harmine+5-MeO-DMT was pretty similar to oral DMT but less visual and more bodily oriented. Not recommended - you need a very good scale and to measure twice or thrice and calibrate the scale every time immediately before weighing. Get that wrong, and you may die. Oral DMT seemed overall better anyway. It was nice to learn that the “sober” headspace is indeed shared among the endogenous psychedelics. It was every bit as “sober” as oral DMT (ie not making me laugh at absurd things and have strange thoughts and thought patterns the way other psychedelics like mushrooms or LSD do).

I would love to try bufotenin to see if it is the same in that “tripping sober” sense, but I’m so confident it is it probably isn’t worth the trouble of setting out to verify. Plus, again, oral DMT just sounds better.

I was under the impression that "admixture" plants referred mostly to the non-psychoactive plants, like Cat's Claw, Chuchuhuasi, and other herbs, that Native South Americans would traditionally put in their brews to color the experience. The palette is even wider when you consider plants from other parts of the world. (Damiana, anyone?)
