Hello, does anyone know how to test the alkaloid levels of cacti like San Pedro or Peruvian Torch legally. I am doing a research project and I love farming cacti so I put the two together. Like I a said in the title i'm testing alkaloid levels (mescaline) in cacti with and without stressors. Stressors include lack of water and shade. Please let me know this would really help me get a move on with my project. Thanks and enjoy your day!

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

You will most likely have to take a small cutting and do a test extraction. That's the only accurate way I know of unless there is some new method I haven't heard. If it tastes really bitter there may be a lot of alkaloids but that's not the best way to tell.

There's a method to evaluate quite accuretly the alkaloid content in cactus , without having to even cut them (by just digging out a tiny piece of the flesh). Unfortunatly, i can't find the link at the moment. Thou, it's a quite more complicated than a simple extraction, once the system is set up, it seems quite efficient!
Maybe someone else know what i'm speaking about :/

Yeeah, Van der Sypt's skin punch microanalysis method is excellent!

That is exactly what you want if you're comparing potency in large numbers of samples.

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."
