He made his way through the jungle, fighting lions at every step,
A clearing appeared and a temple reared and he knew he had arrived at the place he was seeking, into it he crept,
Llalatosiad climbed the ancient structure by a narrow flight of stairs, almost completely hidden from public view,
Each step more complex than the last, his feet scraping rough hewn stone, disturbing pebbles and gravel unmoved for ages,
Until, chest pounding, exhausted and thirsty he reached the top and saw the world as he never had before,
Few others have ever shared the view, he was alone in the midst of the spectacular,
He saw constellations of intricate connections with no end in sight, yet did not see a single star in the sky,
He saw blueprints, schematics, diagrams and systems of all kinds,
Llalatosiad understood their meaning and resolved himself to make the world understand as he did,
He became aware of what he was and what he is,
In his body was love and in his mind was logic and in his spirit was light,
A triangle carved itself on the stones of the temple and he could see it,
A trinity of scratches in the rock, inspiring vision, a vision much different than sight,
Clarity poured itself over him and he began his journey down the temple steps,
When he reached the bottom his vision had faded, but he retained the memory and it returned as he slept,
The blueprints formed a picture, lines and shapes to the ignorant, clear design plans to Llalatosiad,
He studied and deciphered these plans and the vision stayed with him at all times,
He had found a key at the top of the temple that he did not know what to do with,
Now he did and he used the key, he turned and walked past the fire into the day and he saw,
No longer did he believe everything was as it seemed to be,
Distorted shadows cast by flickering flame no longer sufficed as truth,
He saw a tree as a tree and not a shadow of a statue of a tree,
When he returned to the night and told of what he saw they called him a fool and threw stones at him,
This did not discourage Llalatosiad, he knew they simply could not understand,
To them this was not reality, for their reality was simple and plain, easy on the mind, uncomplicated, and official,
For the moment he resigned himself to describing on paper every new thing he had seen,
He painted complex word pictures of the design plans and schematics,
The outcome horrified and simultaneously fascinated and uplifted him,
Now he knew and that could never be taken away,
He saw the originators of the design and understood the depth of their arrogance and the breadth of their reach,
He saw the ways of deception clearly and understood the insidiousness of them,
The plans were a pattern of geometrical forms with their mirror images,
As above, so below,
Llalatosiad meditated on this and spent many days still and silent, knee was bent, neck was bowed,
When he emerged he could be seen for many miles in each direction,
His heart was content and his self was satisfied, he had broken through the kaleidoscopic flower,
He knew he needed to return to the night and tell of his experiences, years had passed since he had last been,
With discretion he would pick and choose, not followers but equal friends,
It was time for revolution, revolution of every thing and notion, but this could not be accomplished by him alone,
Nor should it be, for each man, woman and child is part of the greater destiny,
He spoke their language, his old language, to make them understand, many hated him for it,
Steadfast in his convictions he continued and others joined him,
They had now too climbed the temple in the jungle, stirring previously inaccessible regions,
The actions awakening full consciousness, no longer always sleeping,
Where once many had been three levels removed now the same number were basking in the sun,
Shouting and dancing, a revolution of love,
This was how it could be won, love brings clarity to every participant,
Love, logic and light always triumph over selfish ignorance and darkness, said he,
But still this faded over time and the revolution weakened, most becoming bored with it, content to nap,
The weakness a new chance for their enemies and these knew it, for they had created the man with the head of a bull and locked him in the labyrinth,
They knew he would forever wander in the darkness without so much as an attempt to find the way, and they hated him for this,
He would continue to try to destroy the other half, this was part of the design,
Llalatosiad passed, old beyond the norm,
Night returned and thunder struck and the children huddled, frightened and bewildered by the noise,
Hoping for any comfort in the storm, and it was given to them,
The key was lost and no one now living knew it ever existed,
They spent eternity toiling for the benefit of arrogant architects and master builders,
Llalatosiad was made a liar.

I had heard Terrance McKenna use that phrase before, but now I know what it means.
