I've never been an enormous anime fan, but my daughter is, and she's got a damn good command of the style. I expect it's just a matter of time before her art skills overtake me.

We just recently went to see this Miyazaki exhibit: https://www.academymuseu...ibitions/hayao-miyazaki, and I have to say that it was really, really impressive. We've been working our way through his catalog since, and I'm enjoying them quite a bit.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes made a huge impact on me when I watched it a couple of months back. It's the best series of film I've ever seen. It's long (108 episodes) has huge amount of characters and you should not read anything about it to not get any spoilers since the plot is extraordinary. In short it's a masterful inquiry into how we should live as individuals and society. Very difficult to say anything more without spoiling something 🙂
My preferred method:

You're Welcome Tony6Strings! Were there any you had seen before? Which one you going to try?

Wow that exhibit must have been quite dreamy!
Wonderful that your daughter is taking to art so much! I have learnt recently that it's very good for your brain! I try to draw for 10-20 mins everyday, can be any style etc.
Do you draw at all?

I haven't seen most of these... I watched a couple Cowboy Bebop when it was on Adult Swim. I've seen most of the Studio Ghibli films, as a result of a thread here on Nexus. Are most of these television series?

Death Note sounds really good. And I really want to see Ghost in the Shell (1995).

Of a fashion, yes. Digital sculpture is my primary thing, which is something akin to drawing in 3D.

About time for this thread. So many, so tired right now but:

All of these are currently on NF
Dorohedoro - insane satanic mushroom magiic nuttiness.
Godzilla: singular point- -a love letter to heisei era (60’s-70’s) Godzilla films, shot into the 21st century with Japanese creativity
Devilman Crybaby- beautiful creative direction, really cool looking series
Evangelion- all of it- think you have to be very neurotic and male to get it, but damn.

So much more but it’s nightly night time for me…

Who watched the live action Cowboy Bebop? Did it/hate it? Not a purist, i thought it was cool and liked gore it played with plot lives from the anime.

G’nite. Be back.
