Hi Guys

Some I have an Acacia Acuminata tree that I have been growing for a couple of years now.
It is at a stage where I would be able to harvest from the plant without damaging.
I have a few extractions that I would like to attempt.
Firstly I have been collecting phyllodes over the seasons to try extractions.
I have done stb lime extractions, as well as A/B extractions on small batches but nothing wildly successful yet....
Would go through these at some other stage.
I have realised that the tree has some small branches from a previous season that are now completely dormant. New growth on 9ther branches has grown past these old branches.
Do you guys think there would be any dmt in these branches/twigs that would make it worth trying an extract?
Let me know what the thoughts are.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

I hope someone answers your question, as I also have a lot of dried twigs and phyllodes that were collected over the few years I was growning acuminata. Unfortunately, a very wet winter last year finally killed my plants, so I now have even more material with which to experiment. The plan is to just brew some and consume with syrian rue, but it would be nice to have some idea of its potency first, in order to judge dosage more accurately. Think I read somewhere that a de-fatting stage helps when working with leaves and stems, as opposed to rootbark. You could try searching for chacruna extraction threads, or even phalaris/desmanthus ones, as these deal with similar types of plant material.

Let us know if you get any results.

What sort of growing conditions do you have, just out of interest?

'edit' read some of your other posts and I see youve tried a few extraction methods already. Did you try smoking any of it yet?

Interesting, for how many years did your plants grow? How established were they by the time they died?
I have a few that are still in pots, but one that has been planted out. We can also get quite a bit of water in the winter, so hopefully it will survive that. Although, that being said we are coming our of winter now and it seems to have done the tree well.

I will have a look at some other leaf extractions to check defatting steps. I must say that with previous extractions I have had the red goo that definitely smells of dmt, but at the time did not have decent methods for smoking it either. Some methods I tried are supposed to precipitate the actives and in this way getting rid of the fats. But it has been a while since I did it and my memory of it all is a bit fuzzy.
I now have the means to smoke it, but it has been stored for over a year now, so may have degraded as well. Should probably just try and test it again to see what comes from it.

Regarding growing conditions, we have pretty similar conditions to Perth, where I believe it grows naturally in that area. I have it in quite sandy soil as well.
