The monkey got confused and added FASA directly to freebase DMT. He washed the resulting powder in anhydrous acetone. It does not dissolve.

Can he be sure that his fumarate is fairly pure?

ehhh...it sounds ok...i mean..if its not dissolving at ALL..then your in good shape..i would evap that acetone though..and freebase whatever comes out..and try to pull from it again with acetone...this should help

The only reason I can think of that this wouldn't work, is if there wasn't enough FASA to disolve all of the freebase dmt, or if FASA is so saturated that it simply cannot disolve anything else, but thats not very likely.

Yep, wash with acetone and evap. If it turns out oily or waxy, there's excess freebase, and if it turns out powdery, there's excess fumaric acid (which is what SWIY is hoping for, of course).

I am sorry that I never posted back to the forum about this. I did evap the acetone from the wash. It was in fact waxy....so I scraped it up and put it in the VG

It seem like this is a much easier way to remove excess fumaric acid than redisolving the fumarate in water per the bufoman tek....right? I guess it could be considered inferior due to the use of acetone versus water. At least this way if you wash away any goodies, they will show up waxy.

Nowadays I just leave any excess fumaric acid alone... as its just for storage's sake.

Bufoman's purification procedure is to yield a product that can be accurately weighed and more solidly crystallized, as well as removing residual solvent to yield a product more suitable for oral administration. Burping up acetone is no fun.

I guess my problem with bufoman's tek is that I am afraid that I may leave DMT fumarate behind (not just excess fumaric acid)
