It's been a couple days since I last smoked, but still feels like I'm working through a mild cough. Could just be because I (most likely) burned my first dose a week ago.
Anyone have a similar experience?

Yep, burnt DMT that isn't diluted with much air can be highly irritating. I had a similar experience.

Second ^^

Also, DMT is slightly basic as an alkaloid.

Hi awalmartbag,

I noticed on your recent posts that you have some issues; dmt smelling like limonene, residue on emesh, vapor harshness, sore throat.. i am not sure but i am assuming you are referring to the same dmt in the different posts.

Also in the emesh thread i thought the dmt in the picture you attached looked a bit unusual, the picture is not very clear so it could be just that. Anyway I'm no expert and a picture is not enough to tell whether the product is safe or not, but if it looks unusual then it's a sign something may be wrong.

I think you should be more cautious and if the problems persist consider cleaning the product.

good luck Thumbs up

Yeah, it's the same DMT. I was able to get rid of the limonene smell (before smoking it) with another re-x and the residue (sadly too late) by turning down the temperature.

You're right - impatience got the better of me. I am looking at the analysis thread right now to see how I can use TLC to do some quality control.

Here are better pictures, before/after drying:

Good to hear that you were able to solve those 2 issues. I still think it looks a bit unusual, the bigger chunks in the second picture look more amorphous than what i typically see in DMT pictures. but i saw that you dried them at 50 C so maybe that made them melt a bit and look as they do once dried.

what was your yield?

I don't mean to alarm you or make you worried, it's probably fine, but it's better to make sure it is and be safe.

I hope someone more knowledgeable comments on this.

Thank you for your help & concern. I appreciate it.

Yes, when I was done evaporating solvent, my DMT was a clear syrup (melting point is supposed to be 46C), so once it cooled, it formed a solid layer at the bottom of the container. I had to break that up with a spatula, forming those chunks.

Yield was only about ~0.5%. 1g DMT from 200g MHRB. But I only did 2 pulls instead of 3 and didn't acid cook it for a full 60 mins each time. Just wanted to try a small batch and see if it worked.

IME a hot cup of tea with a table spoon of raw honey before and after a smoking session will generally eliminate unpleasant smoking experiences.
