The talk of yawning in this thread intrigues me. Yawning seems to be a little discussed and, despite its ubiquity, an often-overlooked techinque.

Given that musculature extends well within the oral/nasal cavity, it has a noticeable effect on tension within the cranial structure. IME, on more than one occasion at the culmination of a very focussed yawning episode, the wave of muscular flexing converges in the centre of the skull with an audible 'pop' and what feels like the release of something (pineal juice?) from the pineal gland... accompanied by a kind of wave of inner light radiating out from that point and throughout the body.

It seems that it might be beneficial to perform this manoeuvre from time to time, perhaps you already have some experience of this? Is there anything published on this "technical art of yawning" anywhere?

@eggnostic

I try to stick with my direct experience and whether 'pineal juice' is being released at any time is irrelevant to me. And how can one possibly know it's the pineal gland that's being stimulated, unless one just chooses to believe that because it fits into the narrative?

That being said, I've had intense yawning sessions for a long time, as described in a previous post. They are always spontaneous, and have nothing to do with lack of sleep. It almost feels like breathing into the brain, and when the yawning is over I feel good, and awake.

If you want techniques and personal observations, you could check out what this guy has to say: http://www.personalpower...e-long-and-winding-road/

Yeah, whatever my direct experience - an audible popping sound followed by the unmistakable sensation of fluid flowing in the centre of my skull - you're right that making assumptions about the pineal gland is lazy thinking - being a way of describing "one just chooses to believe that because it fits into the narrative" Thumbs up

Looking at a diagram of the brain, the area that corresponded to the perceived area of popping and fluid sensation was actually more like the pituitary gland Big grin

Still, I found this sometimes repeatable experience to be quite intriguing; it was brought on by intentional yawning as a kind of stretching and releasing exercise for the muscles and bones of the head, as well as flexing the ear canal and Eustachian tube. The process directed itself towards that central culminating point and in its quality of climaxing it seemed like a "yawngasm", if I may coin a word.

Hope you don't mind me sharing this here!

Interesting link - the bit about release for the fascia is convincing; yawning and stretching are highly complementary and that synergises with the breathing pattern entirely. This stuff is hard-wired into our body systems!

The rest of it I'll have to read later. I'm yawning from genuine tiredness this time...

I was shaving my head today, and noticed how much the patterns on the back of my skull, and the shape of the head itself have changed. Almost round.

Babies with flat heads are fairly commonplace. It happens because they are left lying down too much, rather than being carried or allowed to exercise in other ways.

Was this part of your situation too? Or was your skull irregularity a result of muscular imbalance in the spine? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but trawling back through the whole thread isn't a very favourable option right now Smile

Some children are put through unpleasant procedures (e.g., skull braces 23 hours a day) in order to correct their flattened skulls.

So you've pinged my radar again! If the methods you describe in this thread could help kids in such a situation, I would be very keen to spread the word. My partner and I do what we can to spread positive information on the preventative side already.

I haven't updated this in a while, so I just wanted to say that the process never stopped or even slowed down -quite the opposite! Lately I've been dealing with reconnecting the head to the body, and it's been quite the trip. Among other things, the cranial joints reopened, so the shape of my head has changed significantly over the past year or so.

Nice thread,
Thank you guys for sharing your freak stories ! Here is a few words about mine.
I started to feel "possessed" 7 years ago. It started with thouse stretching energies moving in almost every part of my body, twisting my face, arms, gut, eyes, tongue, fingers, legs, abdomen, skull, spine, etc. Most of the time I can control it; I mean stopping it when I need to because of social circumstances and provoking it by just letting the body free to express what is needed. The phenomenon evolved through the years and it was always pulling me deeper and deeper through hell and nightmares until I decided to offer my own life to it so I lost my mind and I died. I've met spirits of dead people and have been possessed by them, they could talk to me, talk with my voice control my body. Some of them are terrifying and the process of possession can be highly painful. It's a way for them to pass from one world to another and a way for us to equilibrate our world. If this is your path there is no way to escape and no reason for trying to. Someone sacrify his life for no expressible reason and the others do not understand. I feel good with it. We do not have to understand everything. I don't understand what's happening to you and I believe that everyone has the right to experiment life and death as he wants. Good luck in your process incredible being

Thank you for the good wishes -same to you!

That being said, I don't relate to what you're saying, and I just stay away from random narratives, such as the one about dead people manifesting through you. I understand what's happening to me, and it's strange enough as it is, no need to embellish it.

Of course, it wasn't my wish to relate or compare your story to mine, when I used the pronoun "you" i was speaking in general terms, I could even be talking to myself no matter the pronoun I use. What I wanted to express by telling this story is that no matter how strange and/or difficult the things become, we have no other choice than embracing it totally, even if it costs loosing our mind or body or even life. Beauty always comes with great ugliness, well being with suffering and life with death.

I started this thread almost a decade ago, and abandoned it for some years now, but it's 4 am and I somehow felt compelled to post on the nexus.

Other than a series of audio recordings on a phone I, unfortunately, lost a while ago, this post is the only description I have of the early days. I am glad it exists as, after going through this every hour of every day for almost a decade now, I still can't find much in the the way of relatable stories, internet access and all.

My hope is that somebody, maybe years from now, will find this and go "wow, this guy went through this too", and they'll find comfort in that.

I for one did, man. I've found others on the web w unexplainable disorders. They suffer greatly, but deal with it bc they can and because their love for life and for everyone that has entered theres is in a word without compare. Keep going Very happy, and I will too. Everybody is strangely unique and bears their own cross alone.

^There are, indeed, thousands of mysterious diseases, and millions of people afflicted. My own condition is not unexplainable or mysterious in its origin. It's not even the disease itself that i find interesting, but the healing process, which has been unfolding for a decade now -every hour of every day.

I can't say I have an overwhelming love for life, I'm just doing my time. My life is clearly split into two periods, the before and the after. While they both have their pros and cons, I don't find either to be worth the bother, and if there was a way for me to erase the whole thing, I would. It's not a tale of a unique manifestation of the world's beauty, but one of a fractured body and mind, in that order.

The healing that occurred is beyond what the medical field deems possible, and yet it's all too little, too late. Like a wrongfully sentenced convict, released after having served for decades -what's there to look forward to?

I remembered we interacted before, and looked it up. What I can tell you is that the connective tissue has the ability to completely reshape itself, and the body, and the mind. I don't know how to start the process in other people, but I know that once it starts, there's no stopping it, for better of worse. I reckon the end result is a state where the spinal column is completely released, and along with it everything else in the body and the mind.

Didn't mean to insinuate that what you experience is necessarily an illness or disease. Mine isn't technically either. It's simply a structural anomoly, a kind the "medical" field hasn't covered just yet. And yet my massage therapist who studied chinese medicine and before that, electricity, had.

I can remember this thread reasonably well and I agree with you that body and mind are one. And yet they are two; everybody is entered into a sort of silent relationship with themselves the moment they are conceived. It's kind of like that one hs project nobody has ever avoided.. (well I'm sure some have but I only mean it figuratively besides).. self portraits, namely. Did they grade it? yes. Was it ever really about the grade? no. It was just for fun.

Brother. What isn't there to look forward to?

I hadn't listened to Lex Friedman in about a year, then a short clip popped up on my youtube home screen today. Ended up watching the whole interview, as it seemed strangely relevant to what Ive been trying to describe in this 10 year old thread.

The title of the episode is
Michael Levin: Biology, Life, Aliens, Evolution, Embryogenesis & Xenobots | Lex Fridman Podcast #325

and here's a link

Well worth a listen.

Lately, I've been coming across so many healers of various kinds, on YouTube and elsewhere, that seem to be dealing with specific aspects of whatever this thing happening to me is.

Basically, there's a somatic, physiological aspect, and an emotional/ mental side, and these ppl focus on one or both to various extents.

One interesting trauma specialist I recently discovered, and believe could be helpful to many is Irene Lyon. Here's a segment where she talks about how trauma is released from the body
https://youtu.be/1eVzl5HA3S8?si=rfVp11g1957cP3Dm

Another good one, discussing all things related to complex trauma (Complex PTSD, Childhood Trauma) is The Holistic Psychologist on YouTube. Here's a short segment on cptsd
https://youtu.be/tgLKMvB93hE?si=0HSkMQ_I7aLjYCHO

Also interesting is Neal Halinan and his Postural Restauration Method.
