Hey nexux, it's been quite a while since i have done any chemistry so i could use a refresher course. Does anyone know the easy way to separate harmalas from dmt, Ive got some changa with a high ratio of harmala and im just not a big fan of it so id like to get it out.

It would help to know just how much you have.
That would help decide if the procedures would be practical or worth the effort.
I could outline a procedure to follow if its 200 grams of changa, if its 2 grams I'd say just mix it with some more DMT and more leaf to dilute it Wink
Other options for low quantities would be as a first hit before 2 more hits of better changa, or a small dose to take while peaking on mushrooms or mescaline, etc.

Perhaps I will just make a new batch, I still have a small amount of powdered MHRB from 8 years ago. I wonder if it has any enchantment left in it

Simplest solution as Elrik says is just add more DMT. As you have the bark you're in a good position to modify according to your wishes.

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

I never tried it but given harmalas are hardly soluble in IPA or acetone ( in room temperature ) and DMT is... just put your changa in a glass of IPA/acetone, mix a little bit and probably most of your dmt ( if not all ) is now in the IPA.

The remaining herb can be now put in acidic solution in order to recover the harmalas.

You just deconstructed your changa back to its original ingredients I believe...

Harmala bases are moderately soluble in acetone and likely similarly soluble in IPA. Granted, freebase DMT and DMT-N-oxide would be substantially more soluble [as would be harmine-N-oxide] so the procedure could substantially swing the ratios. Use IPA if going for that option. 91% dissolves DMT, 99% is even better.
I would avoid using acetone.
NMT occurs in variable amounts in natural DMT and we don't know the degree of neurotoxicity that would be caused by smoking 1,1,2-trimethyltryptoline which would be a product of NMT reacting with acetone in the presence of heat or residual bases.
