It does crystallize with hexanes, it is just not so forgiving as N,N-DMT. The freebase can crystallize as brilliant white needles, have been storing some of the freebase for almost a year in a vial under air at room temp, no degradation or returning to oil, it remains a waxy white crystalline solid. 5-Meo-MIpt has this problem as well, and it's salts are hard to crystallize too.
If it is oiling out, add more hexanes, dissolve it at boiling point. Add a touch of ethyl acetate or ether, helps with solubility, around 2-3% works well. Let it cool down to rt before placing in the freezer.
If it is soluble at room temp but insoluble in the freezer, its also more likely to give crystals, that requires more ethyl acetate/ether.
If still it does not crystallize, purity might be the issue. Traces of other tryptamine byproducts (5meo-NMT, 5meo-T, etc) will inhibit crystallization
