https://www.newsobserver...me/article236998889.htmlor https://myfox8.com/2019/...drug-lab-out-of-nc-home/Not sure what to make of this. On the one hand they are spreading to others the ability to have the transformative life experiences possible on DMT which serve to make us be better, more well-rounded and compassionate human beings. On the other hand, it seems they are dealing in bulk which (in the current political climate) only serves to give DMT a worse reputation.

I didn't even have to read the article, to determine that those numbers are based on masses of raw material, rather than masses of active analytes. This is clear evidence that the science means nothing to the prohibitionist industry, which is profit-driven, just like the "drug dealers" they go after. They are bottom-feeders, regardless of which side of the law they are on. That being said, doing bulk is never a wise decision. People post all the time about how to go about doing bulk; I don't enable them, because of the aforementioned premise (bulk = profit, for both sides). greed = bad karma. Agreed and well said. Although from their perspective they have an intention that we would consider good in an 'ideal' world, however, we don't live in an ideal world do we? What is this intention, you ask? Well, if there were no war on drugs then wouldn't we all just love to live off what we love doing or believe is meaningful to us and/or good for humanity? As we and most other nexians would agree though, undertaking the implementation of this intention is incredibly foolish in our current state of affairs and only serves to undermine our small psychedelic community.
Another point is that there are some minor instances where bulk extraction would not be considered 'greedy' or 'for profit', such as when you want to prepare for the future and stash away because you have a temporary ideal living situation (either environmentally or have a lot of spare time) which you might not have long term (work, kids etc).

I'm wondering about the math. Just say they calculated it at $100 a gram, $4000000 would mean that there was 4kg of DMT. Would have taken maybe 4 ton of bark to get that. More likely they busted those guys with 4 kilos of bark and are using the premise that all of it is DMT. Shonky policing and great headlines. Could have just been a few jars and a tray and they're being strung up as war on drugs victims. That's not beyond the realm of possibility. The nearest we ever come to knowing truth is when we are witness to paradox.

Betting Northerner has the gist of it with that last paragraph. Better call Saul!! I don't like the idea of people going to jail for extracting dmt. olympus mon wrote:You need to hit it with intention to get where you want to be! So based on your assumptions it would be 40kg of bark, which is far, far beyond personal use. I'm sure they're still using some variety of drug cop math/creativity to add a few orders of magnitude to the value though. Wonder what a bag of coffee beans would valued at if caffeine was illegal... 10's of thousands for a 1 pound bag.

At 2% content, it takes 200 kg bark to get 4 kg DMT. I suspect the LEO's were calculating from the basis of a higher gram-price. To quote the late Dale Pendell (again): "Most drug labs would be more accurately called chemistry sets." More importantly, we should consider how the guys involved came to the LEO's attention. That should be obvious enough. “There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work." ― Jacques Bergier, quoting Fulcanelli
