So swim hasn't posted in a bit. He has been playing with his extractions and has come to the conclusion fasa works best, but has not made any smokables yet. Only the salts. So today he played with a small bit to get used to the process.

Swim took about 500mg dmt fumarate and 2g Sodium Carbonate and mixed together dry. Swim realized that this was probably way more carbonate than needed but figured it couldn't hurt. Swim then added way too much water, 100mL or so. Figuring it couldn't hurt and it would just slow the process down some.

Swim stirred and stirred the solution and got to the point where the only thing in it was milky water and a white powder on bottom assumed to be extra carbonate. After sitting a minute or three an oily substance collected on the surface of the water. It looks alot like what freebase looks like when you have a lot of N-oxide. Like a brown goo.

So swim's question is this. Did he unwillingly discover a way to separate Oxides from FASA extracted dmt? If so where is most of the dmt now? Note his DMT Fumarate was a tan color and the stuff at the bottom is pure white, so he thinks he added enough water to get it to dissolve in it.. What is the solubility of DMT in water? His fumaric acid states a solubility of .63g/100mL of water at 77F.

He's gonna just leave it all in the same dish and let it evaporate and start from scratch with less water but is curious to know what's up.

Swim got an idea, figured it was better to ask first.

What if he were to add some IPA to the mix. Stir it around and seperate the solid whites from the liquid. What would he be left with? What if he used Naptha?

Freebase DMT is practically insoluble in alkaline solutions. What you have is simply freebase DMT oil decant the excess water and evaporate, and you'll likely just find salts and excess sodium carbonate (there's not going to be fumaric acid, as it's been neutralized); 100mL being a hell of a lot of excess water, though, may result in a good deal of freebase particulates floating around, so let them settle first. SWIM would guess that SWIY did this in a beaker or glass of some kind, so it will be difficult to remove and crystallize without aid of a solvent like acetone or IPA which should then be decanted off of the excess sodium carbonate and evaped to retrieve the product.

Next time, try one of these methods: https://wiki.dmt-nexus.me/Amor_f...eebase_Conversion_of_DMT The details of how the first method works should illustrate how SWIM came to the conclusion above.

FASA's decent, but it's a bit dated, so look into limtek or FASW or FASIPA.
