Hi all,

This is my third try to get smokable, side-effects free bufotenine freebase from yopo/cebil seeds, but i can't get the caramel purified. That's what i did with 20grs:

1. Toast the seeds on a fry pan at low temp until the seeds stop popping

2. De-shelled all my patience can

3. Grinded on a coffee grinder, in order to get the finest particles but not too fine so solvents cant pass trough with ease.

4. Mixed at 1:1 with Sodium Carbonate and a little of water to give pasty consistency, stirred 5 mins and dried in a pan over a middle heat hotplate

4. In a glass THP (The Herbal percolator), ran 10 times 150ml of acetone trough the seeds (seeds and loose cotton bed under), and that procedure repeated 2 times more (3 in total) with new fresh acetone. First 150ml acetone ran got an orange color, the second and the third got pee yellow tint

5. So i got 450ml of crude seeds / acetone solution.

6. tried to dissolve 1gr of fumaric acid in fresh new 150ml of acetone, its seem that the fumaric acid didn't dissolve at all, but when the FASA solution was poured into thr 450ml bufo/acetone the clouds formed instantly (supposed to be bufotenine fumarate and other junks). (Gif attached)

7. Leaved overnight to full precipitation.

8. Got, the other morning, a frustrating 600mg amount of bufotenine+junk fumarates.

9. Dissolved the fumarates in about 40ml of tap water and added sodium carbonate at 1:1 ratio (i'm using 1:1 ratio with the base because it's old and little exposed to air). The No Smell tek (https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=10071) says a caramel lump will automatically form, but what i got was just cloudy tan water solution.

10. So i let evaporated the water solution at room temp but the solution became darker, to a near black color

11. The evapped result was black junk.

12. Disolved the black junk in acetone, the acetone got a amber dark color, and the sodium carbonate? settled at the bottom, that was filtered with a funnel with cotton.

13. I started to add naphta drop by drop, in the No Smell thread, the user LucidLemonade stated that he added naphta drop by drop until the solution started the separate in two phases, and then he added more naphta until got a clear layer. Well i tried the same, and indeed the solution started to separate but added more naphta and the solution get unified again, anyway it drops some black junk at the bottom.

14. Siphoned the solution and poured on a evaporation glass dish, helped with a low heat hotplate (there was fumes but never bubbles)

15. What i got where brown glitter-crystalline powder, that became black in mere minutes! in some part i got tan crystalline powder and beside getting all the product together i tried a little bit (like an 1/8 of a US cent) on a vaping pipe. There was tingling and back head warmed, so i stated its bufotenine (i tried the traditional snuff one time a year ago), then i got nearly 1 hour of euphoria and a beautiful peace and happiness mood, really enjoyed that, but no visual. Some nausea for the first 15mins, but really manageable.

16. So next day i tried the d-limo boil of the Jorkest tek (https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=4025&p=15). The thing that i don't understood is that you have to pour off the just stopped boiling d-limo in a precipitation jar and then pour again the limo in other jar to leave the precipitates. I poured the d-limo on a evap dish, and helped with a low heat hotplate.

17. What i got again was orange/brown crystalline powder that smells like d-limo, tried again the double of the previous dose, and got just the tingling, back head warm and little nausea, also a little euphoria and peace+happiness feeling, but less than yesterday.

18, so i dissolved again in 5ml of acetone, and added naphta drop by drop, this time, i added the drops of naphta until the solution became separated, the bottom with the dark amber color and black junk settled, and the upper orange/tan in color and with particles making a cloud. So i siphoned the upper layer and poured on a evaporation dish.

19. What i got, AGAIN, is a brown crystalline powder, now with amber goo on the part that solvent lasted more to evaporating. The brown poder became black AGAIN IN MERE MINUTES, the amber goo is still like that.


SO, any of you has been in the same situation? what you did? what i have to do and have NOT to do. I'm getting more seeds next week.

I not tried yet the MEK:Heptane purification method, because the only heptane i can get here is "for analysis" and costs USD$40 a litter plus shipping.

I read a lot in this forum, i really studied all the threads about this, i know some people prefer the d-limo boiling method, and some people got bad results with the mek:heptane. I don't want to boil Xylene as many users here says it's dangerous and leave a car repair shop aroma for weeks. The problem with the naphta is that all manufacturers do they own flavours of naphta (differents mixes, so different polarities), so i have to discover the real ratio to get the XlogP of freebase bufotenine, but how can i visually know that it have to be the last naphta drop?

In the D-limo boil, when you pour the d-limo in a precipitation jar, do you actually see the supposed to be immediately bufotenine precipitation?

The D-limo i have is crystal clear, but becomes orange when heating with the crude bufotenine freebase, it's supposed to be a d-limo characteristic or the color is given by the melting bufotenine on it?
