I have traveled about 10 times already. I probably could have traveled 15 times but I gave in to cold feet on those other times. "Yeah, but he's a pederass Dude."

I still get anxiety. Psychedelics are the opposite of an addictive drug for me. Intellectually I would like to do psychedelics more often than I do in reality. They seem therapeutic and could promote neuroplasticity which could help in the long term. In contrast, when I was using alcohol, intellectually I would want to drink alcohol a lot less than I did in reality. Hope that makes sense.

I’m just getting over mine. It took time, mental energy, and practice. Try navigating in the sub breakthrough level for a while. Helped me get accustomed to that g-force rocket ship feeling. Loveall: that resonates with me. My best friend is just like that. He seems to know the benefits of psychedelics and harm of alcohol, but can’t get himself out of his habits. I think it depends honestly. Personally I've never broken through so, besides the first time, I have had little to no anxiety. I find lower doses quite pleasant, like a very strong visit with lucy. Once I move past this point though... I'm sure I'll be right there with you brother!
Oh and whatever you do, don't do what I did. Taking a benzo (first time) to relieve anxiety will only dampen the trip immensely. Breathing exercises, meditation, etc etc etc will be far more beneficial. Good luck!

As McKenna said, if you're not afraid, it's not worth it IMO pre-flight anxiety is OK as long as it's the good kind of fear there is something to discover, a fear mixed with curiosity, a longing for an adventure. What helps me is a good preparation, like having a reassuring sitter friend around, snorting a bit of mapacho tobacco, concentrating, taking deep breaths, using incense, music etc. ... just the good ol' set & setting.

Loveall, I really like that hypothesis. For me as well I would like to do psychedelics more than I actually do and conversely with alcohol I do it more than I would like to. Until now that is, after stopping (I hope it turns to quitting) alcohol for a while, getting to grips with nutrition, and meditating more I actually want to do the spice more. Sure the experience still gives me pre flight anxiety, but it seems more manageable now that i am starting to get my life back in order, and am working actively towards my health and peace. Also I really would like to second the advice given by others in previous posts concerning pre flight anxiety. With the spice or changa its always nice to build up the dosage, go slow and breakthrough at your own pace. Be comfortable and you decide how you want to enter the land, all at once or gradually, either way its beautiful... mama matrix most mysteriousIn the gforce of the carrier wave when my ego starts melting away I truly realize that I am who I am and yet everything that I say and say I did is an illusion. For me it’s a little scary each time but I only have a half dozen experiences so far. I will say though that my most enjoyable and what seemed like the longest trip so far was when I really relaxed myself before going in and completely let go. I took a lot back with me that time. Happy and safe travels everyone!

First time I went skydiving I was terrified to be quite honest. I wanted to jump out of a plane for a very long time before I did it. We suited up, got in the plane, plane takes off. We ascend to around 12,000 feet. The plane door opens. I think to myself, "No, I can't do this!" The fear kicks in. Sweating, nervous and flat out ready to come out of my skin. My jumpmasters and I approach the door. I have to shift myself onto a handle on the wing of the plane in between my two jumpmasters. The wind is whipping me at about 80mph. I am terrified!! I felt like crying out for my mother at the time. I was really scared! We count down and I let go! I am so glad that I did! It was wonderful! The fear suddenly turned to excitement! I felt pride for doing it! It was absolutely one of the best feelings I have ever felt in my life! I have been skydiving several times. Each time I am scared! Every single time I get scared! I know what is waiting for me when I let go of that plane now so it is much easier to push that fear aside. Each time I became more and more comfortable. It feels so good to fall from the sky like that! Now replace this whole skydiving scenario with DMT and it is the same thing. I have done both and can safely say for me, they are very similar in regards to dealing with fear. It is completely normal to be scared of jumping out of a plane and it is completely normal to be scared of having a breakthrough on DMT. Congratulations, you are sane! “Silence is a source of Great Strength.” ~Lao Tzu
