Hello all,

Long time coming but glad to be here.

I'm fairly experienced as far as mushrooms but have been skirting and researching DMT for a number of years.

I would like to ask people about their experiences with both mushrooms and DMT.

As I'm fairly isolated here in the Netherlands.

in real life about the benefits of alternative therapies....

Thank you

FS

Greetings friend,

Glad to see another newbie here.

I can tell you that I had an amazing experience with my mushroom trip (I've only done it once), in regards to it being a beneficial alternative therapy.

It helped treat my PTSD symptoms. The doctors tried for years to tame it with several prescriptions. Endless visits to the hospital, several therapy sessions, but nothing was working.

Even had a psychiatrist tell me that it was naive to think that I would fully recover and get my life back, and that I would have to a accept that this is how my life would be like. She tried pawning the treatment off as me having the toolsets they teach me for when I have more panic attacks and when I relapse again.

After watching a video of Paul Stamets on the Joe Rogan podcast mentioning that he treated his stuttering when he consumed mushrooms, I knew I had to try it.

It's been a month since I've done it, and I have not relapsed yet. I am microdosing as well every few days (100 mG) to hold off the withdrawal symptoms from coming off the antidepressant (Paxil).

Not long after this, I witnessed a drive-by shooting. Sure, in the moment I was scared. I was also worried that this incident would have set me back. I didn't want to take another dose of shrooms, but I do keep 7 grams in case I relapse.

Well, after witnessing this incident I had pretty much been content with the incident (especially since nobody was injured or caught in the crossfire). Talked to my psychologist, and even she said that she's quite confident that incident would not set me back.

I now look at psilocybin as medicine rather than a "drug", and keep wondering why this isn't prescribed as a first line of defense for trauma (especially since there are several studies over the years showing this).
