Hello good folks of the Nexus
I am Nef, nice to meet you all
Having lurked as an unregistered for some time, soaking up information wherever possible, I felt it was time to register and hopefully be a useful contributor down the road, share an adventure and a laugh or two
I live in Europe in about zone 7a climate, mild humid continental pretty much
I have an interest in many bio-synthesized psychedelic compounds, and have began the process of growing many of these ethnobotanic plants from seed recently, with a view to possibly attempting some mycology in the near future. I realise it will be a long road, before anyone says it. My humble belief is that nothing worth doing is easy or fast, so I have already made my peace with the waiting part, thinking it only makes the destination sweeter. And I learned some patience for this sort of thing by growing cannabis over the years also, which I have managed to learn to do pretty well, not that it is especially difficult in all honesty, really anyone can do it
In any case, I have used a few of the more widely-available psychedelics very extensively when I was a younger man, and am revisiting it now as I attempt to approach all of this from the theoretically more mature and holistic aspect of communing with nature for my own psychic development, rather than just buying some stuff to get high quickly under the influence of youthful lust for experiences, which obviously anyone can do with little work or learning required, and probably little healing or development gained in the long run. How much of this thinking is actually true or just self-serving prophecy, I suppose we will have to discover as we go
I manage to grow vegetables in the summer too, utilising mostly a mix of permaculture/biodynamic and just simple organic methods, although I know that growing mimosa/acacia and cacti in pots is probably going to be another thing altogether of course, they are still plants, right? I am not a complete novice at reading plant behaviour is all I am saying really, although my chemistry know-how is still in it's infancy, I freely admit
There is really a vast body of knowledge here to absorb and much for me to learn and I hope you will please be as patient as possible if I use the incorrect scientific nomenclature or ask a stupid question etc, but I promise I will do my best and attempt to actually find the answers myself before asking and refer to things correctly so we all know accurately what we are actually discussing
Wish you guys all the best and look forward to getting to know some of you, have a nice Sunday afternoon anyway everyone
Nef
