Passing the overwhelming fear, numerous people (including myself) have reported untouched cognitive processing as they experience a DMT trip. The more popular psychedelics such as psilocybin and LSD have altercations to the cognition of the tipper while the same can't usually be said for DMT.

Could this be because of it's molecular simplicity? LSD and psilocybin are more complex structures than DMT (even the substance that psilocybin metabolizes into, psilocin, is still minutely more complex than DMT), meanwhile DMT is possibly the structurally simplest psychedelic. For a comparison, see the image below.

Could the structure of the molecule also play importance on the cognition of the tripper or is it just a random trait that dimitri has?

I think it may have something to do with the results in this study:

From a biological rather than metaphysical standpoint... I would believe it to be related to how it interactions with neurons in the frontal regions of the brain, specifically the ventromedial pre frontal cortex. Not only this but the PCC which forms part of the default mode network responsible for sense of identity experientially. There have been studies of how dmt and psilocybin deactivate/activate these networks. Although i haven't looked to what degree of difference between the substances.
