Do you listen to music on spice and if so what experiences do you have with it?

I've stopped listening to music on DMT as the music becomes insanely intense, loud, and distorted. I'll enter this position where I forget that I'm on DMT during the peak and the music is almost frightening as I can't figure out what it is. Interested in hearing what you guys think.

i have read conflicting opinions on this . one camp - the music influences the visuals !

other folks could feel intimated by the spirit of the music . it also depends on what you are talking about , necromancer vs instrumental orchestral .

as a rule of thumb for me personally , i would think if i was going to be in this position music off for sure . no question .

that would be in place as part of the set and setting . no music . i have personally observed something like this go bad very quickly . its a bit of a long story . tldr - kys .

at a party in the early 80s , a emotionally unstable teen was dosed with some strong lsd , i couldnt believe my pal - Danny had given this guy Phil some lsd . i literally couldnt believe it as phil was clearly not ready . it was his fathers home , phil was house sitting. phil had been estranged from his father for his entire life so this was not good . his dad had just kind of showed up and given him the keys as he was going away for a couple of weeks . in the mean time phil has gone from laughin on the couch to karate moves facing a large mirror on a door ,which he shattered with a kick . after cleaning this mess up , i went into the living room and they are playing "the doors" on the record player . a live album , phil begins misbehaving as the macho drunken spirit of jim morrison sunk its teeth into his fragile egg shell mind ( did i just type that) the group is calling for phil to cool out . "listen to the music" they are saying ... i am thinking gee what a crew we have here what is next ? as he clearly needed a quick change of scenery , unfortunately it was snowing . phil retorts "its my party i can do anything i , want , see ?" as he throws beer - dark beer flinging it out of the end of a bottle all over the walls . no need to worry phil , nice guy post balone is here to assist you with that dark beer spill . phil has now disappeared , he returns with a hand gun . at that point i re positioned myself near the stereo and reduced the volume on the doors " the end" or what ever psychotic song was playing . i then moved myself towards closer toward s the exit as he was doing his gun play show as a veiled suicide , pointing the gun in his mouth , temple but never pointing at anyone . with some further coaxing , more than likely "time to smoalk a bowl" phil was calmed down to the point of realizing what he was doing went too far . i know it sounds silly but i remember that night very well and i am sure that wouldn't have happend if we would have listened to my choice - ummagumma , more , or obscured by clouds , hell even saucer full of secrets . when phils father returned the house was trashed , the hand gun along with a few thousand dollars in valuables were gone , thanks to dan and his pal stopping by for an impromptu cocaine party which turned into a simple home invasion . needles to say phil never spoke with his father again as far as i know .

music is a powerful force we do not comprehend . it is the only true magic that I can summon . i respect it and give thanks for this most wonderful gift .

there is a time and a place for everything . be safe

hug your pets .

I agree, we should hug our pets. The time I decided to stop listening to music during the peak was when I was listening to Time, that part after "you missed the starting gun" It was waaaaaay too psychedelic. I should have been listening to obscured by clouds or anything less electrifying. Idk, Time is much more LSD to me than DMT anyway. During a 4 tab LSD trip, I had to forcefully scribble on a piece of paper, "STOP LISTENING TO FLOYD YOU F***" and had to read it many times over until I changed to Al Green. fond memories from that night..

Music is a huge part of my life in general, and I typically find that it guides me. I don't find it distracting because if I'm not listening to music and am otherwise sitting in complete silence, I pick up on a lot of small noises/auditory info that become distracting anyhow. When I lie in bed at night completely sober, I can sort of hear ambient machinery, or the environment, whatever it is, turning over rhythmically like a slow engine. This has happened before I did any psychedelics.

Do you listen to music that is familiar to you? Or comforting? I actually often listen to classical music because long symphonies (or the movements within) develop over time. And while there are large dynamic (volume) shifts, the organic/natural instruments are much less jarring to me than electronic or digital instruments.

Everyone has their own take on this, and whatever music you listen to, or don't listen to, is the best for you. Try not listening to music at all. Maybe try the experience with ear plugs in? I know some people do. I hope that you find what works for you, no matter what that ends up being!

During psychedelic experiences I'll primarily listen to king crimson, david bowie or pink floyd. But as of recently, I've been allowing myself the silence, I can't think when there's music playing.

you missed the starting gun - if you can picture the end of the solo , DG kicks on some sort of modulator , maybe its the synthi hi fli ? and the back up singers also have a modulated effect - thats a great sonic moment for me , that band has a lot of those .

king crimson - when people say that it can mean so many things , wow what a impressive body of work .

i like all of it , some of it i REALLY LOVE . thats one of those bands that has such a cult following and some of those folks will get the knives out . i was lucky to see them live . i am not one of those folks who hates adrian belew . kind of the opposite i saw him with bowie on the sound and vision and wow .... i embrace all of that KC music . does the name hint at jesus blood ? not sure but when i did see robert fripp he communicated somethings to me telepathically . i am not kidding , i dont normally think or speak on such things but it was real . it scared the crap out of me ruined a good portion of the show . i was tempted to throw all my gear in the trash they were so good , it was also halloween when we saw them .

point/counterpoint - how awesome the internet really is , right now i am considering the non stop ringing in my right ear , thats a new thing ... it changes pitch from time to time . i had a sip of some sort of chocolate wine - just a tiny sip - its my wifes , and that ringing went thru the roof . i did another an hour later and went really loud and a lower freq . the next morning it was gone for a while - kooky stuff .

you seem to have good taste in music placebo , nice to met you

For me its very cool... Visually bc the trip go's w the music... But the music dominates the trip...I pretty much get a killer audio n visual show but thats all ill get its like there's not room for anything else to slip in bc the music has taken over...I've pulled my headfones off a couple minutes into it a couple times bc it was too much...
My vote is no music... 👽✌

Sphongle or some not fast paced Trance music is what I listen too if n when I do...
