Scratching my head...
A blog?
A multimedia site advertising cheap shirts with questionably appropriated imagery?
WTH?
It's great that you are monetizing your interests but the nexus isn't really a place to advertise your business. If you'd like to give a head's up that might be okay, but this post seems like borderline click bait designed to get traffic to your site.
The shirts are nice, but for me bring up questions of appropriation. Using shipibo imagery without making some attempt to renumerate the tribe seems anathema to the message that the substances referred to by the designs teaches.
However the other abstract molecule designs are really awesome. I'd really appreciate to be enlightened on some of my admittedly reactionary responses as these are a possible purchase of i can be assuaged morally. One of my contemporary goals is to try to be a blameless as possible in my actions, in part to amend for a lifetime of selfish destructive decisions.
Also how and where are they made? The textile industry worldwide is one of the most egregious marked by forced and underage labor, borderline slavery and human trafficking and unless work is sourced carefully chances are the production of cheap garments will be performed by one of these bad players. Cut and sew garments like these and especially those that are made from custom printed bolts could doubtfully be sold for the prices listed without being produced in a developing country and if that is the case chances are that the facilities contracted use inhumane practices. i workedin production screen printing foryears and have also workedwith Chinese companies sourcing production for vinyl toys, i know a small bit about these markets and finding ethical trade partners internationally.
It takes lots of work to ensure that your product is created sustainably, in inspected, worker safe facilities and that is a primary responsibility of a respectable business that deserves my money especially if they claim to represent psychedelic ideals. Once again, i feel that one of the lessons of the substances that these shirts advertise is that capitalism does not override human rights. I'm not saying that definitely these shirts are, but there is nothing on the site about responsible production practices and ethical sourcing. Is it just a capitalization on a new fad by an entrepreneur with their ear to the ground in festy culture?
A garment with a molecular representation of a psychedelic that was produced by child slave labor should cause the wearer to burst into flames but unfortunately most who can point to the tattoos they bought as cultural bona fides probably wouldn't think that far as long as they look trippy and have that psychedelic gleam in their eyes at all times.
Man they are nice looking and they are indeed very fashionable, I'd love to sport one of these especially since they fit right in with my button down aesthetic but I'm not sure I'm cool enough anyway. Man those tattooed bearded models remind me of the bros that make my social anxiety go through the roof in the community. They all just scream "give me a black eye bro"- do they have to be such insufferable looking hipsters? Is that what people think we look like...? Sorry, that dude wearing the frog shirt really looks like a guy in Portland with a bad haircut and little yellow teeth that stole a bunch of spice from me...
