Hello Everybody,

Just a brief introduction (or endtroduction for any fellow DJ Shadow fans). Short version, I'm here for a few reasons. Primarily, I am fascinated with DMT and the possible lessons to be learned from breakthrough sessions. I have just started really diving into the forum and learning more about DMT, its extraction, tek, etc., etc.

Secondarily, I am fascinating by psychedelics and how they rewire the brain. Short-version, I lost a friend a while back to anxiety and addiction. I have heard a bit about psychedelics helping people overcome problems like that and PTSD. Fortunately I do not suffer from any of those problems, however I find the role of DMT and ayahuasca to basically rewire the brain or change its function somehow...holistic.

Finally, my primary interest is learning about changa. I have read a bit about the components, ratios, different recipes/blends, etc., etc. I am still working through the technical side of things, however changa sounds like a more pleasant experience. I am also figuring out which sort of caapi variety (white, yellow, cielo, etc.) would be best to start with. Anyway, you probably get the point. For now I'm really just taking it all in.

Finally, I think the real reason I'm here is that I am, for lack of a better way to put it, seeking enlightenment. I am not expecting all the answers, however I have sort of come from a religious background and at some point just kind of had a change in beliefs. While I am pretty steady in my lack of knowing, it does have me wanting to explore and find stuff out about the universe. So DMT seems like a way where I might be able to find some things out for and about myself.

That's it in a nutshell.

Glad you found your way here!

I am sorry to hear about your friend that you lost! That really sucks! My condolences.

I certainly hope you find what you are looking for! Psychedelics can help in many aspects of our lives, however, they are not a fix all. The work starts in the here and now. Psychedelics can point the way towards new perspectives and new ways to think about life. I am not sure that anyone has ever found enlightenment or solved the mysteries of the universe via psychedelics. I feel that psychedelics can show us certain 'truths', it is completely up to the individual to put these truths into action.

Welcome to the Nexus!

Thank you. I was a bit reticent to bring it up, however it did factor into my searching out what might have helped him. That's not really why I am here, however it guided me into this directions. More on that in a moment...

Good point. I'm not expecting it will show me some definitive meaning of life or be some panacea. I'm just exploring for those truths or different perspectives. My psychedelic experiences have been more about changing points of view or gaining new experiences which enrich my life and change my overall perspective. So I am going into this with realistic expectations and not thinking it will unlock the keys to some vault of knowledge and answers to the universe.

This is more about exploring than about some "truths." That said, your advice rings true, and I certainly agree with work starting in the here and now. Anyway, thanks for the welcome and the advice, I appreciate them both.
