I'm just wondering what psychoactives are naturally in the body, and what they do. I thought it was fairly interesting that DMT is in the body.
Also, do you believe it is DMT that causes dreams, or are other chemicals also responsible?

Also, one thing I've wondered for a while.
What chemical is released when one cracks their back, or stretches their back.
I found that since before I ever started doing any drugs that I would get a very nice rush for 10-30 seconds if I stretched my back far enough back. I would do this several times a day or whenever possible, and it became a habbit for me.
Also, theres a myth that acid stays in ones spine, and is released when one cracks their back, however I believe this is false. I believe it is simply because something is released when anyone cracks their back, not just people who've taken acid, however the myth makes people think its the acid, because they never noticed it before.

nope

acetylcholine and glycine are the major transmitters involved with dreaming, the latter is responsible for sleep paralysis.

I remember people saying that acid or whatever your body turns it into ends up at the base of your spine, could be an urban myth though. Haha never that it is relaesed when you crack your back! Just that it stays there forever.

There are psychoactives already in our bodies for sure. Vision itself is an illusion constructed by our minds to help us map the world around us.
Everything I write is fictional roleplay. Obviously! End tribal genocide: www.survival-international.org Quick petitions for meaningful change: www.avaaz.org/en/
End prohibition: www.leap.cc www.tdpf.org.uk And "Feeling Good" by David D.Burns MD is a very useful book.

It is an urban myth. I'm fairly sure it started because a lot of people can get a rush if they stretch there back, however a lot never noticed until after they took acid, and then blamed it on the acid.
However I was able to get this rush since before I ever took any drugs, so whatever causes this rush must naturally be in the body.
I'm very curious to know why people get this rush when they stretch their back though.

they say there's an ounce of truth to every myth, but that's probably because they don't know wtf they're talking about.

I'm fairly sure erowid mentions that myth, but about acid instead of shrooms. Haha.
Its the acid faq I think.
However I think it was something among the lines of "can acid make your brain bleed"
then something like "I heard that acid causes your spine to shake up and down, and its possible it will hit your brain"
lmfao

Yesss. SWIM works out 4 plus days a week and after each session SWIM is left with this incredible rush..kinda a mix of euphoria and a bit of speediness. Lasts for a few good hours. But just as psy said, i would come home and vape a bowl right after, then proceed to the shower////OMG gotta love endorphins!! Smile

DMT, 5-MeO-DMT, and Bufotenine have been found through-out the mammalian body including humans.
Here are some references for endogenous DMT in blood, brain and Cerebral spinal fluid (CSF):
[Franzen and Gross 1965; Christian et al. 1975; Christian et al. 1977; Narasimhachari and Himwich 1973; Corbett et al. 1978; Uenelhack et al. 1983; Smythies et al. 1979; Wyatt et al. 1973].

DMT has been found in the brain and CSF tissue. Christian et al. 1977 showed that endogenous DMT exhibits all of the properties to be classified as a neurotransmitter in the CNS.

The role of the endogenous hallucinogens is not known although several possibilities have been speculated on. For example DMT plays a role in dreaming and other altered states [Callaway 1988; Strassman]. DMT has an anxiolytic role [Jacob and Presti 2004] and that DMT plays a role in waking states of consciousness and perception by acting as a neurotransmitter in high level of CNS processing circuitry [Wallach 2009].

LSD is not stored in the spinal column. It is rapidly metabolized and excreted.

I don't know if this really counts for what you are looking for but,

Melatonin, and GHB are naturally in the body as well.

And yes LSD being stored in the spine is a myth. Though I find it very fitting that DMT is found in the spine and brain especially when you look into the human energy centers.

I always feel something shoot up my spine and then dance on my brain while holding that first big hit haha.
