Hey fellow Nexians, I've got about half a dozen extractions under my belt but I've never tried recrystallizing until this week. I had beautiful pristine white snow globes spiky that precipitated out of my naphtha. A couple batches had a little more fats and oils or tannins colors Etc. So I decided to recrystallize in hot naphtha and re- precipitate. Has anyone else ever gotten tiny little clusters like this? If you zoom in you can see three yellow bumps that seem to grow out of the naphtha like volcanic mountains. Crazy. Any words are appreciated. A-K

It looks comparable to my re-x results, only better, I guess.

It looks like you are doing just fine.

But my opinion means nothing - are you happy with your product?

Those bumps are probably a slurry of DMT-N-oxide, NMT and/or 2-MTHBC. It's natural to encounter these contaminants in a DMT extraction. Your product looks delicious, and merits an up-vote!

For all extensive purposes and due to lack of details provided, this comment assumes you did your extraction on MHRB and/or P. Viridis leaves. If so, then those three bumps may likely be the above-mentioned trace contaminants I brought up in my first sentence.

Congratulations on a re-crystallization well-done,

Hey, thanks for the input. Yes, it was MHRB. I did Cyb's salt-tek, got beautiful, spiky, snowglobes, super white. I did have some canary yellows that I was hoping to clean-up with this and they DID get lighter in color, but I may have to do another round of re-X or sample this a few times to see if there is any discernible difference in quality/potency, etc...
