I grow San Pedro in my backyard and until recently had only tried small amounts, which gave me the impression it was more potent than average.

The other day I was taking cuttings for propagation and decided it was a good opportunity to try a full dose, so I saved two small pieces aside. They were about 2" thick and maybe 8" total length (4" each).

After despining, de-skinning and de-coring I put it on sheets of paper and let it dry a little bit, but didn't dry it completely.

It was a Saturday night. I started eating it around 10pm. Didn't eat it all in one go, but over the course of 2 hours and finished eating around midnight. It was bitter, but not bad at all.

The first effects were the usual euphoria, but as it got stronger it reminded me of LSD (although much more euphoric, bright and benevolent). Then it turned into a whirlpool that sucked me in.

I'd have vivid visions - one moment I'd be in a medieval castle looking for a place to hide from a giant mechanical panda on wheels, another I'd be sitting on a lotus flower with fluorescent petals... I saw the machinery of the Universe, its cog wheels. I'd turn into other people and lose my identity, history, family, gender...

I didn't sleep that night at all. When I got up at 8am, my pupils were still huge. I ate a bag of salted cashews, which tasted amazing.

At 12 midday I went outside. My visions was sharper than usual, objects appeared a different sizes than they were and I'd hear things, e.g. a voice speaking Spanish which wasn't there. I came back to my house and managed to sleep for 15-30 minutes. When I got up at 2pm, I was pretty much back to normal.

I'm very glad my own cactus was so potent and gave me so much! Now I have 6 plants in the ground, 2 cuttings being rooted and I'm nursing some smaller plants indoors.

Amazing, wonderful Thumbs up

What climate are you in please? Cacti favorable?
Yeah no sleep is certainly cacti style, no wonder the Wixarika people eat peyote on their hunt travels to keep going and withstand all kind of physical discomforts.
I used to eat cacti on sauna or sweat lodges, you're really on top of things then Big grin

This is the second report i have read where the act of eating the cacti gives rise to intense visionary experiences. I wonder if this ROA is better than drinking the tea?

Was there any purge or nausea?

This might be a fun thing to do in the wee hrs, say 4am after sleeping when the veil is thin Cool
Marijuana, LSD, psilocybin, and DMT they all changed the way I see

depends on the plant and how the tea is made, eating potent plant is a pretty primal method to get it done. a nice tea is sometimes more welcome to the body, especially if lysed

A climate many would be surprised to hear they could grow in, but I've had them outside in pots for a couple of winters. This season I planted them out for the first time.

They have taken -4C coupled with generally wet winter conditions without damage.

The most photogenic / tallest ones have been eaten Smile but I'll try and post some pics when I get a chance.

None at all, but I don't generally purge or get nauseous. I've been drinking Ayahuasca regularly and haven't purged in 7 or so years. I don't purge on Kambo either.
It may be for that reason that I don't bother making cactus tea. Before I started growing my own cactus, I'd use raw cactus chips / powder.

It was T. pachanoi. Now I have 6 of these planted out, and today I've planted a T. bridgesii.
