Hi everyone,
First off I'd like to thank each and every one of you wonderful people for the wealth of knowledge that I have gained from this forum in the past couple of years. I will forever be grateful.
It's about time I stopped lurking and finally signed up. Expect to see me a lot in the Ethno Garden. Here's my little life story I guess.
I have been interested in psychedelics and psychoactive substances my whole life.
My parents always smoked and grew pot and they never tried to hide it from me. So I had easy access to cannabis very early on.
I remember being in elementary school and lighting up the roaches in the ashtray with my neighbour when my parents were gone haha. And when I actually learned to roll joints a few years later it was extremely easy for me to steal a bit of hash or weed from them.
Like many folks of my generation, my 1st psychedelic aside from cannabis was Salvia divinorum, followed closely by mushrooms at around 15.
I learned the importance of set & setting about a year later, when I had quite a bad experience on my first LSD trip caused by someone I was around when tripping. This experience completely changed me into the polar opposite of what I was before. By that I mean that I used to be a very confident person, even a bit cocky, could get almost any girl I wanted and ever since that bad trip 11 years ago now I became a self-conscious anxiety ridden wreck. I learmed to live with it and accept it though.
I won't go into the story of this bad trip unless you want to hear it because it's a bit of a long story even though the situation itself is pretty dumb and simple, but you know how psychedelics are...
Shortly after that I started taking heroin, occasionally at first but by the time I was 17 I was using daily and badly addicted. This went on for a little under 5 years until I started methadone treatment which itself went on for another 4 years of waning off from 60mg down to 1mg and finally 0.
I stayed opiate free for about a year, but a few months ago I had the bad idea of buying some kratom online, I'm now addicted to it and have withdrawals in the morning but at the same time kratom helps me a lot with my back pain (23° scoliosis), anxiety and cravings so I'm fine with that for the moment.
Appart from that, I'm a passionate gardener and I grow a very large selection of ethnobotanicals.
Kratom, Iboga, Caapi, Salvia, various species of Psychotria, Many DMT-containing Fabaceae, famous Phalaris clones, Sinicuichi, Ephedra, Kanna, tons of trichos and lophs, and much much more... I will be posting a grow log soon.
Looking forward to contribute to the Nexus!
