Hello everyone.

OK so I am pretty concerned about my lung-health which is why I use activated carbon/charcoal filters for my joints and bong. They have no disadvantages (for me) and filter out a lot of nasty shit that would otherwise end up in my lungs.

I will be trying out some Changa soon and I would like to smoke some Caapi leaves beforehand as well.

So my question is:

Will the activated carbon/charcoal filter filter out any of the DMT?
Will the activated carbon/charcoal filter filter out any of the harmalas from the Caapi leaves?

I couldn't find anything on google or the forum.

Also if you've never tried them out...please give them a try. Your lungs will thank me/you!

Thanks so much in advance!

I cannot test this but I can only imagine that the activated carbon would catch a good bit of the DMT vapors. This stuff REALLY likes to condense.
As a user of ta VG Glass bat vaporizer, I notice that a lot of vapors condense on the inside of the glass and once a little bit starts to condense, a lot more condenses on it to the point of forming crystals when it cools.

On that note, have you looked into any of the Vapor Genie products? I absolutely love my glass bat one both for fluffy x-tals and changa and am considering adding the Sherlock GVG to my collection as well seeing how many people swear by it. Took a little bit of getting used to for which I used air dried mint to learn it. For learning the tool I simply loaded it with mint, took a few hits til depleted of minty-ness, and reloaded until I could deplete it in 1-2 hits consistently. Now, I can consistently load up a moderate to heavy dose of my favorite mix and deplete it in 2 hits if I go for it. All with no combustion by-products. Not saying it is as healthy as air, but a lot better than smoke for sure.
