Hello,
I have other post bjt it seems old.So i open tbis one becaue I have urgent question and lrobably will delete it soon.
I read manh topics on shrian rue tea and all have different boiling times.Someone boil it and just simmer to cold.Somone say 3x45min boil.What should I do.I will take 15 befor mhrb tea since both same time didnt work 3gr SR and 9ģr MHRB 3x35 min acid boil.
 

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Become attuned with your materials. Maybe your rootbark is bunk.

Multiple small extractions from the same material yield more than one big extraction.

It shouldn't be that difficult to extract alkaloids using hot water, assuming they're present in the first place.

The finer you've ground up the seeds, the shorter extraction time you'll need.
I blend 3g with some water until the plant matter is like dust.
I do 3 boils, 15 min each. Works for me.

I just performed an extraction experiment - the cooking yielded almost 51% more alkaloids (harmine + harmaline) over warm soaking. Both cooking and soaking was done 3x30 minutes replacing with fresh water.

So definitely cook. I would do two short cookings and a long one as the first pull gets most alkaloids out, the second is minority and the third is like 5% or so.

Some tips:

- freeze your seeds before grinding - they will ground more easily
- coffee grinder works well
- add a speck of citric acid, lemon juice or vinegar - just to invite alkaloids in the water
