2 Days ago he died after a period of illness.
He was Huichol - Wixarika original.
He toured to EU during some years, usually around this time of the year and September, with the help of Raul.
Then we could get to know Hikuri, the yote from the genuine Wirikuta desert which is another deal than a yote from a pot.
He came to help us heal (ourselves), as we did.
I could see change in his general condition over the years.
What I most remember of him: to be humble and simple, non complex.

The community might expect a successor. In first instance don Tonio's cousin will take over the honor but the question for a successor has been asked to don Tonio's son to step in his father shoes. His son has had the 15 years of training already and is for some years an established marakame (hikuri shaman - singer). Lets hope this circle of life continuous.

The way don Tonio did a personal healing involved elements resembling Traditional Chinese Medicine organ massage (Chi Nei Tsang, a very confronting and hard to endure treatment) and osteopathic manipulations. He was holistic/combining and not only waving feathers and singing, thus merging hardware + software treatment.

Its opens to the question how a healer could not heal himself. We have no details, maybe he did extend his life potential already? We don't know. Then again, who could ever stop the material end?
