EW's tek has been the standard for acrb, though with varying results; generally lower quality, though first breakthrough trip into hyperspace was achieved with 'lower quality' spice. After more research, it was suspected that temperature and excess aggitation was the major culprit for lower quality, causing excess tannins and other unwanted compounds released into the soup prior to extraction. There was also keen interest in focusing on ph, rather than recipes, specifically with regards to the acid stages, which was achieved utilizing pure acetic acid, rather than dilution.


During heating stages, temps were not allowed to climb over 110-120F, or until the vessel was somewhat uncomfortable to the touch, though not intolerable if held for extended periods of time.

During acid stages, full strength acid was utilized, consistent ph of source at 2.5-3

During base stages, adusted with adding necessary amounts of base until a general ph of 10-11 was achieved.

No warming of solvent during extraction was done during this experiment; just room temp.

Air evap w/ fan to approx. 20-25% solution, freze precip for 24+ hrs.

drained solvent into new dish, air dried freeze precip dish with fan for 24+ hrs, then relocated to cool, dry place with temperatures approximately 35F.

Remaining solvent allowed to air evap for 24+ hours, kept at room temp.



End result:

freeze precip dish formed excellent crystals, best ever seen to date, w/ long branches that traveled throughout dish. No discoloration or yellowing; pure white, indicating very low levels of contaminants (I suppose). Remains solid at room temp, a first, and can be collected with ease due to ensuring potential naptha that may have been trapped in spice was allowed to evap via fan drying over 24+ hrs.

Excess solvent dish also formed unexpected branches, though low in quantity. Also formed yellow goo over time.



Test results:

30mg into oil bulb, though not all taken; likely no more than 20mg utilized.

3 draws, extremely smooth (compared to previous batches). Additional draws could have been accomplished, but were refused when high pitch tone resonated and body feels/visuals kicked in.

Most powerful batch to date, given the intense visuals and even intenser body feels for such a minute amount, likely indicating a high nmt ratio, though no breakthrough. Total time in hyperspace: approximately 7 minutes

Examination of oil bulb after return indicated approximately 5-10mg remaining, though estimate due to it being in melted form.

oil bulb unintentionally left at room temperature, and within 48 hrs, recrystalization had occured within the bulb.



Further experimentation will need to be conducted to confirm consistency with replication of result, and to determine if success was, in fact, due to modifications of the tek or due to higher quality source material.
