Hello guys!
This is my first post so I want to say I'm a very curious person especially regarding fundamental philosophical/spiritual/scientific questions about life. So naturally I want to try DMT and have a profound experience like the ones I read and hear about. So let me tell you my progress so far...
I tried DMT once, I turned all the lights on in the room (I thought I would feel more comfortable with no dark corners in the room) and when I did it I had insane aztec-art-like visuals multiply in my face (I had my eyes open). I couldn't distinguish anything in the room, it was like being somewhere else. I was so overwhelmed that I couldn't stop pacing back and forth in the room laughing like a baby, talking to myself: "this is amazing, unbelievable etc..". I liked it, it was weird, however I am a little scared to do it again. Any tips to find the courage? Also, do you think I should change something in my setting? Please help me I'm a rookie Smile

Sorry if I got off-topic here. I haven't been using a forum for years, so please forgive me. ^_^

Welcome symbolic,

From my experience and research so far, I have a few suggestions for you. Some of these are my own opinion, but are also shared by many others.

First, keep the eyes closed. When you open your eyes during, it can be very confusing. Unless you're full breakthrough, in which case you won't remember how to open your eyes, or even that you're a human living on earth.

Second, try low lighting in a quiet room. Some prefer music. I prefer near darkness with ear plugs in order to be sensory deprived. Though I do have soft light in my room.

Third, lay down or recline. Definitely don't try to walk around. This could be dangerous if you go out completely.

Lastly, finding courage is always hard, and pre-flight anxiety effects many travelers. Try some meditation before hand. Deep breathing, focusing on the breath. And always remember, no matter what happens, you'll be back in your body in a matter of minutes.

Check out the FAQ on this site. It's very useful.

Peace

Thanks InAwe!
I'm going to try a sub-breakthrough dose again maybe in a few days, in the setting that you proposed and see what happens..
Maybe I'll post my experience here as well.
