I introduced my brother to the other side after my trip today. I've introduced him to a lot of different things through the years. He definitely enjoyed it to say the least. What I have been explaining to him about DMT up till this point had no meaning. Now he understands and it's awesome.
Finishing the salt extraction now. Will report later.

Reminds me of the tao:
Quote:The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao
The name that can be named is not the eternal name
The nameless is the origin of Heaven and Earth
The named is the mother of myriad things
Thus, constantly free of desire
One observes its wonders
Constantly filled with desire
One observes its manifestations
These two emerge together but differ in name
The unity is said to be the mystery
Mystery of mysteries, the door to all wonders
I've never been able to properly explain the DMT experiance to those who have not consumed DMT personally, terence McKenna articulate s the phenomena below:
Quote:
Metaphorically, DMT is like an intellectual black hole in that once one knows about it, it is very hard for others to understand what one is talking about. One cannot be heard. The more one is able to articulate what it is, the less others are able to understand. This is why I think people who attain enlightenment, if we may for a moment comap these two, are silent. They are silent because we cannot understand them. Why the phenomenon of tryptamine ecstasy has not been looked at by scientists, thrill seekers, or anyone else, I am not sure, but I recommend it to your attention.
~ Terence McKenna
The DMT experiance does not readily translate into the code of human language, I often find myself becoming a stuttering wreck when trying to describe the DMT experience, and as a result most settle for models or metaphors which are "close enough", as the actual concepts can not be placed into language, this also makes it hell for anyone who is trying to understand
exactly what it is you are trying to describe...
Quote:Being monkeys, when we encounter a translinguistic object, a kind of cognitive dissonance is set up in our hindbrain. We try to pour language over it and it sheds it like water off a duck's back. We try again and fail again, and this cognitive dissonance, this "wow" or "flutter" that is building off this object causes wonder, astonishment, and awe at the brink of terror. -terence McKenna
Personally I prefer the yellow crystals, but not the "waxy" yellow crystals. while these are yellow crystals, they still maintain crystalline structure and texture.
While residual lipids, oils, and misc. Compounds, may contribute to the coloration of a DMT crystal, DMT appears to have two polymorphs, one translucent, one yellow, both pure.
Quote:Irrespective of source, crystals originating from synthesis were predominantly white crystals obtained using crystallization from hexane, whereas yellow samples following recrystallization with acetonitrile. Irrespective of source or solvent, two polymorphs appeared to exist with melting points, determined by DSC, of 57 °C to 58 °C for Form I and 45 °C to 46 °C for Form II.
https://www.researchgate...ial_scanning_calorimetry So the color may not always make much of a difference, also, residual solvent contaminants, NaOH, and other contaminants could exist in translucent crystals and would not be caught by the eye, so translucent does not always mean pure.
Some say some residual lipids and oils aid in the vaporization of the DMT, preventing heat from damaging the molecule and allowing to enter it's vapor state more efficiently in the context of how it would be vaporized during consumption, which may be why some claim to prefer the "waxy" or "waxy yellow" crystals
Any way, the extraction looks great, keep up the good work.
