I was inspired to make this flyer recently. I passed out 100 copies to strangers. I was in a rush to get rid of them and move on so I didn't talk to anyone about it, but I was pleased by the initial reactions that I saw. I think the strangers got a kick out of it. All in all it was a fun exercise.
It started as a conversation with a friend about competition in business. We agreed that if you devote your life to proving that some aspect of a company is BS, then that company must either hire you or destroy you. I started thinking about that in the context of the government: Is there something I could say that is so inflammatory that it would merit a reaction by the government? After I posted it, it dawned on me what "destruction" might mean in the context of the US government and I got paranoid. At the same time, it is truly scary to think of how easy it would be for the US government to kill me if they wanted to. They could make it look like an accident. They know where I live and have infinite resources. Anyways, the friend I was talking to is Chinese. After he told me to look up Fang Xiaoru, I realized how lucky I am to live in a country where I can get away with saying stuff like this.
Regarding the profanity, I needed to make sure that people would notice the bulletin before it got taken down. It won't be mistaken for religious solicitation. You have to admit it's flashy. One glimpse and people are curious about the rest. That's more than you can say about your typical flyer. Another argument in defense of the title: This is for mature eyes only. This is a message that your culture doesn't want you to see. Yes it is taboo. That's the whole point. The title is a metaphor for the contents.
