Big grin Hello Everyone!
So I use these things here and their and while some produce mild stimulation, or relaxation, I think I may have found one that works for a more "noticeable" effect.

Lambda/Epsilon frequencies. These are some newer brainwaves discovered that, for myself, work the best. In fact I just used one (for 14 minutes, with distractions for the first 8mins or so) and notice definite patterns on things, sharper vision, and slight visual distortions. Now, I did smoke some resin earlier (would not recommend smoking resin due to the adverse health effects) but I took note of the exact feeling and visual aspect before plugging in my headphones. Their is DEFINITELY a change.

Essentially, Epsilon/Lambda waves are a very low (.5hz down for Epsilon) and very high (100-200hz for Lambda) waves that play on top of each other. Lambda creates Epsilon. Epsilon creates Lambda.

Can anyone relate to my experience? or haha am I just crazy Shocked Laughing
I have noticed that some Binaural Beats just flat out DO NOT WORK while if you do your homework, you can find some that do.

Here is the one I was using during the above: Epsilon .33hz

And haha I know theirs a official thread for Binaural Beats, but as I am not yet a full member I cannot post their Sad .

Thank you for your time!

I gave Holosync a try when I was 17 / 18 or so. Looking back on it, I think I benefitted more from the healing intention, the meditation, and the relaxing music, more than any purported frequency synchronization.

So, I don't think this stuff is any more healing than real music. Listening to music for enjoyment has similar benefits that binaural beats claim, such as relaxed mind, de-stressing, good blood pressure, and insights (lyric-induced or no).

I believe that there is a lot of potential in sound healing, but I think actual music still surpasses it in healing power.

Haven't heard about these other brainwave frequencies, though. Is there any scientific literature on Epsilon brain and Lambda?

Come to think of it, I bet brainwave electromagnetic activity is more complex than just one changing frequency. I bet it's a whole organic symphony of frequencies overlapping, syncing, syncopating, harmonizing and cacophanizing with each other.

Somebody should have a look at this (and your track record), 158 posts are enough for full membership imo. Upvoted you.

Probably fake and placebo.

Quote:
A binaural beat is an auditory illusion perceived when two different pure-tone sine waves, both with frequencies lower than 1500 Hz, with less than a 40 Hz difference between them, are presented to a listener dichotically, that is one through each ear.[1]

Have BB worked for me? Well, not in a spectacular way, but they are good for relaxing because of their monotony. Placebo? Well, maybe, but placebos work, too. Very happy But a good chillout track is fine as well.

PS: There's a good video on BB by TC, one of the early BB pioneers. He says, that what you bring to BBs, is what you get.

They work for me, I've listened to a few on YouTube. Been listening to ones that are designed for each chakra, and they do seem to do the trick

Binaural beats are my go to for sleeping I keep an iPod under my pillow
Use them almost every night .

Thanks for all the replies! Haha I think they may be placebo to a point as well. But I have noticed definite effects with some as I said. Now based on your replies, haha I can assume that I may just be more susceptible to them.

and haha a1pha, I read the thread, but am unable to post their as of now as mentioned earlier, otherwise I would have asked about the specific frequencies (lambda/epsilon) their. Thank you for the suggestion though!

Noticed the other day on YouTube, one that was supposed to be the same frequency as earths magnetic field. I wonder how accurate such claims are. It was nice though

+1

i definitely get the most restful sleep using binaural beats. can tell a difference when i don't use them. haven't tried the lucid dreaming and oob stuff, value my restful sleep too much for now.

Hey Bundle Flower Power.

I would suppose that the acclaimed earth magnetic resonance frequency beats that you are referring to would follow the frequency found in other studies to be that of the earths magnetic resonance.

It should be about 7.8 hz and is called a Schumann resonance frequency.

Well it def had an effect. At the time I was having a hard time calming my mind, then I turned that on and it's like my thoughts go separated and dissolved.

I have totally got that before! Its kinda like Binaural beats help me think and get a psychedelic mind set of sorts. May just be me though on that last one haha

No dude, it's not just you, they seem to alter consciousness. they put me in a non-thinking state, or at least where I'm not thinking in words. Because I tend to think way too much at times.

Here is my latest offering I cooked up today.
https://soundcloud.com/s...nds/modulo7-period-j-k-m

I don't think you could consider it a binaural beat but it borrows from some of the ideas involved. With a focus more on temporal patterns rather than frequency.
It holds a nice little reward for brave souls at 3 minutes in.
I recommend as a complementary practice to do while listening is eye-open meditation with a focus on reduced focus. The sound will help Thumbs up .
Theres 3 major movements that sneak up on you too. Cool

They have worked for me most of the time. I've even had a few digital drugs work for me- mostly the downers.Cool Pretty sure headphones are necessary for maximum effect.

Even though it's just a simulated experience, the effects were similar to some actual drugs. I've toyed with the thought that it could even be a combined effect of brainwave entrainment and hypnotic suggestion.

I use them sometimes when meditating, but mostly to drown out other sounds.
They seem to help calm me down a bit.
I'd be interested in what they can do during a flight, usually I go for silence.

I have heard that they can produce greater effects when one is tripping before listening. Is this true??

Maybe its different for everyone. Like some people can trip on them (only heard of this like twice), some people feel they get ya high (myself lol), and some people only get a relaxed and clear mindset.

So many variables... Everyone is different so I guess it may be different for everyone ya kno.

I tried the "lucid dreaming" track while drifting off into sleep and I ended up in a state of sleep paralysis. Shocked

Don't know if it had anything to do with the binaural beats though, although it certainly does not usually happen to me.
