If I may ask, was this pachanoi you grew? Almost 2% seems high for commercially available pachanoi, unless you got it from South America.
Also, if you wouldn't mind, could you describe your titration / pulling process in some detail? I'm thinking my friend may not be getting everything out of his solvent.
Hey xram... This was Pachanoi that I grew. I have about 20 mature plants and over the years Ive weeded out the low performers. This was dry flesh but no spine, everything else though, skins and all.
The titration is just the one that Dg has promoted on here. just add dilute sulphuric acid till ph 7 is reached. You need to vigorously stir the saltings in between each addition. I use a good quality PH meter for this.
solvent extraction is somewhat tedious but just requires lots of heat. I use KOH mixed with water and blend it with the powdered cactus using a drill, then let it slake for a few days before adding solvent. Blend the solvent with a drill again (I use a coat hanger bent to form a mixer) and leave it in a hot water bath at 80 C until it separates. I do four solvent pulls and then salt once.
Interestingly my solvent pulls come off crystal clear when hot but when they cool they go cloudy, Im not sure what this precipitate is but it doesn't settle, even after one month in the fridge! The mescaline certainly doesn't seem to show any signs of base contamination and its plenty potent
