I have alway's found the big bang to be a flake out...
I mean the word universe means everything. Even if there was a big bang there had to be a cause for it.
See that's the funny thing about cause and effect. By definition it can't really have a beginning nor an end. All causes come from effects and all effects go on to be causes.. You can't have a first cause.. nor a fist effect. Causes and effects are inextricably linked in a never ending chain.
Personally I like the idea of an infinite universe. Physicists talk like the universe is only 14B years old, but that is only the Universe we can observe. Does anyone really believe the universe just stops once you get past the observable universe? Hell no. The universe is infinite.. that is what the word means. If at the end of the black universe there is something else then the word universe has to expand to include that as well.
Of course if it turns out the universe has no discoverable beginning (like Buddha said) then it raises suspicions about the ability of science to ever provide insight into the larger questions about the nature of our being that all humans want to understand. Which don't get me wrong here, I am a scientist and I love science, but I wish science would get out of the way so we can get on with exploring subjectivity since if we are all completely honest the only thing that ever matters to us is our subjective take. Who cares if the average person experience X a certain way if you experience it differently? it's your experience you want and need to understand.
Dear physicists so the big bang crapped out on you and you are left hanging... You sir need 3 grams of shrooms and 20 mgs of DMT at the peek.. I suspect you will find something far grander than the never ending black void of twinkling stars above your head.
If your religion, faith, devotion, or self proclaimed spirituality is not directly leading to an increase in kindness, empathy, compassion and tolerance for others then you have been misled.
